Looking back at the Eastern Valley Zone Junior Girls 4km race!

Lyla Teer, the Grade 9 from Regent Christian, took the win in 15:37. She will be back on the trails tomorrow in Nanoose Bay for the Provincial Championship race ⚡️

Tristan Hill claimed the Junior Boys title at the Vancouver Island Zone Championships, clocking 13:03 over the 4km course. He finished just ahead of Matthew Hrysio (13:06) and Noah Sexton (13:24).

With the BCSS XC Provincial Championships kicking off tomorrow, the Junior Boys field is absolutely stacked, featuring standout names like Sebastian Owiowy, Caleb Baker, Max McArthur, and Daniel Zhang, among many others. This one is shaping up to be an incredible race.

A race that came down to the wire!

Grade 10 Claire Babiuk edged out Grade 11 Charlotte Gough in a thrilling finish to win the 3A Senior Girls 5km at the Vancouver Island Zone Championships. With the BCSS Provincial XC Championships just around the corner, there’s a lot on the line.

Rhys Beaudoin was the only athlete to break 17 minutes in the Senior Boys 5000m at the Vancouver Island Zone Championships!

He will face some tough competition in the 3A Boys Division at the BCSS XC Provincial Championships this weekend, with standout names like Riley Simmonds, Miles Hayden, Isaiah Johnston, Arjun Sandhu, Coen Kissmann and many more top talents on the start line.

At the Big Valley Clash, Simmonds won the Senior Boys 5km in 16:20, defeating a field of 128 athletes. He then stepped into the Open 8km at the Vancouver Spirit Run, finishing 5th overall in 23:46 and crossing the line as the top U18 competitor.

It’s still early in the season, but Simmonds has already shown he’s one of BC’s most versatile young runners.
