Watched RIVER 🌊

This comedy movie is about hotel staff & guests experiencing a time loop... 🤪➰⏰

It's the Japanese version of Groundhog Day, but with a much shorter time loop of 2 minutes. ✌🏻

I love the hilarity in how they try to solve a new problem every 2 minutes, taking a break, trying out crazy stuff & even going on quick dates! 💞

Definitely a chirpy movie to perk you up!! 🍿

Juliana Cooks ~ Stir Fried Purple Cabbage with Pork Belly & Cashew Nuts 🐽

Seasoning used : Salt, Oyster Sauce & Chilli Padi 🌶️

This experiment tasted better than expected. The buttery cashew nuts balanced the earthy flavour of purple cabbage. 🥜

Read GOOD HIDING 🥷🏻

This novel is about a teenage girl with a huge secret doing whatever she can in order to protect it, from running away from her abusive dad, enlisting her bestie to help her, to blackmailing. 🤐

Although the story is not told in a linear way, by using Character POVs, it's rather easy to follow & engage with the emotions of the character. 🎭

Everybody has a secret. But sometimes the secret ain't that secret. When it feels too much, confide in a safe space. Because most of the time, you are not alone. 👐🏻

Watched FREAKIER FRIDAY 🤪🤣

This is a sequel to Freaky Friday, 22 years later... 🤯

I love how they included lots of current trends & lingos, as well as exploring cross-cultural & intergenerational relationships. 🌍

However, when 4 people swapped, the story does get a wee bit busy & messy. 🎊

But that does not make it any less funny or heartwarming... 🤣🥰

This Korean historical movie is about freedom fighters doing whatever they can to free Korea from Japan's colonisation. ✊🏻

The story kept me on the edge, cinematography is breathtaking, and the ensemble delivered a compelling performance. 🔥

Totally deserved the Baeksang Best Film Award! 🏆

Rewatched FREAKY FRIDAY 🤪 to prep for "Freakier Friday"!

Regardless of whether I watched it when I was 15 or 35, I still laughed at many of the scenes, especially Dr Tess after switching with Anna! Punk Mum is da best!! 😎🎸🤘🏻

Also love the badass songs by Anna's band, Pink Slip. 😁🩷 Dunno what it means back then, today the band name hits differently... 🥹

Since Freaky Friday is so iconic & nostalgic, I hope the sequel Freakier Friday will not disappoint. 🤞🏻

P. S. I relished the moment when Jake & Tess sang Hit Me Baby One More Time in the cafe!!! 😚☕

This Japanese musical drama is the live adaptation of the best-selling novel by Mio Wakagi, produced by actor Sato Takeru.
🥁📖🎸

It's a beautiful story on passion, grit, and putting aside all personal differences to create musical magic together! ❤️‍🔥🪄🎶

Even though a genius musician can create a song from start to end with production software alone, it still sounds better when the music is created together when playing in a band. Synergy happens!! ✊🏻

I love the cast chemistry, heartfelt songs, and poignant messages... 🥰

Now I wanna read the novel - both the translated & original version (when my Japanese gets better)!!! 🤓📖
