STORYTELD

STORYTELD Changing Society, One Story At a Time. People, not laws or systems, are the true agents of transformative change. You can browse our catalogue here.

STORYTELD is an independent media collective with a dynamic approach to journalism that offers an alternative to the mainstream. We are on a mission to highlight societal issues that are often underreported and give a voice to communities and issues often pushed to the margin. Through story telling, we build empathy, dialogue and change by offering alternative perspectives. We are committed to hel

ping ordinary people influence policy, advocate for inclusion, and make our society better through storytelling. STORYTELD has previously developed and published stories addressing social and political inclusion issues relating to persons with disabilities, sexual minorities, drug and substance abuse, among others. Since our inception in 2016, we have managed to reach an average of 32,000 people per month. The most watched STORYTELD video, a human-interest story about a woman who has given birth to more than 30 children has over 20 million views. Mainstream media has also picked up some of our work including the video on workplace sexual harassment that was reshared by NTV Uganda. We have also caught the attention of civil society including Konrad Adenaeur-Stiftung, ChapterFour, Reach A Hand Uganda, ActionAid and Center for Policy Analysis, among others who have been moved to action through partnership.
