Today is a heavy day — one year since my Mom passed away.

Grief is such a strange thing. Some days you feel like you’re doing okay, and then something small can bring all the sadness right back.

The first year has been hard in a way I didn’t expect. At first, there was some comfort in thinking, “she was just here a few months ago.” But as time goes on, it hurts in a different way knowing we are getting further from the last time we saw her, talked to her, and hugged her.

Now it has been a full year without her. A full year of firsts. And that number just keeps growing.

My heart also hurts for my children, who have lost both of their grandmothers in such a short time. Watching them grieve and miss them has been its own kind of heartbreak.

But even in the sadness, I have peace knowing my Mom is resting safely in our Lord’s embrace. Because of Jesus, this isn’t a final goodbye — just a temporary separation until we are all reunited in His Kingdom.

Missing her so much today and always 🤍

For a long time, I thought building something online was for other people.

The moms who had more time.
The women who were naturally good on social media.
The people who already knew what they were doing.

But I was tired of constantly doing the mental math every time we wanted to make a decision as a family.

What I love most is that I’m not spending my days trying to sell products or convince people.

Something I wish someone had told me earlier —

Saving a post doesn’t mean you’re ready.
Bookmarking a course doesn’t mean you’re building.
Adding things to your “someday” list doesn’t move anything forward.

I did this for a long time. Filed things away. Told myself I was “doing research.” And honestly? I was. But I was also just staying comfortable.

There’s a difference between gathering information and actually deciding to start.

I’m not saying jump in without thinking — I’m saying that at some point, the thinking has to turn into something.

For me, it was less about feeling ready and more about finding something that felt supported enough to try. A real process. Actual mentorship. A way to learn without figuring everything out alone first.

One of the quietest things I've had to learn is how often I put my own life on hold waiting for the "right" time.

Later I'll slow down.
Later I'll be more present.
Later I'll take that step I keep thinking about.

But later has a way of becoming never — not because we're lazy, but because life is full and the days move fast and we genuinely forget that today was the opportunity.

I think about this a lot when it comes to the things I kept saying I'd "eventually" do. The things I wanted for my family. The margin I kept hoping would just appear on its own.

It didn't appear. I had to build it, intentionally, when the timing still felt a little uncertain.

Not because everything was lined up perfectly. But because I realized waiting for perfect was just another word for waiting.

I used to hear the phrase “passive income” and immediately feel skeptical.

It gets thrown around a lot — and honestly, it used to make me roll my eyes a little. Because nothing about building something real is fully passive, especially at the start.

But here's what I've learned is actually true:

You can build a system that keeps working even when you step away. Not magic. Not instant. But real.

What that's looked like for me:
→ Learning a skill set that translates to actual income
→ Setting up a process that runs in the background
→ Showing up consistently while the system does its part

There are mornings I'm making school lunches, dropping kids off, running errands — and my business is still moving. Not because I did nothing, but because I put in the work to set something up that doesn't require me to be present every single hour for it to function.

🌟 The right time was probably a few months ago. The next best time is right now.

Not because you need to rush. But because the version of you who starts — even imperfectly, even unsure — is the one who actually figures it out. The version still waiting for everything to line up? She's still waiting.

🌟 "I just need to learn a little more first" can keep you stuck indefinitely.

There's always more to learn. But at some point, learning has to turn into doing. The process gets clearer once you're in it — not before.

🌟 Starting messy is still starting.

You don't need the perfect plan or the perfect moment. You need a real process, some support, and the willingness to show up consistently. That combination does more than any amount of preparation.

I didn’t want to build something that only worked if I was constantly posting, selling, or chasing people.

When I started looking into ways to build an income online, I saw so many options — digital products, low-ticket offers, creating everything from scratch, and trying to make small sales add up.

And while those can work, I knew myself.

I’m a wife and mom. Life is full. Time is limited. And I didn’t want to build something that required me to be online all day, constantly pushing, posting, or chasing the next sale.

That’s what drew me to high-ticket.

Even one sale can make a meaningful difference — without needing hundreds of small transactions every month.

For me, it wasn’t just about making money online.
It was about choosing a business model that felt simple, sustainable, and possible to build around my family and real life.

There's a moment I keep thinking about.

My daughter said something funny at dinner — one of those little-kid observations that makes everyone laugh — and I caught myself already half somewhere else. Thinking about what still needed to get done before bed. What the next day looked like.

I was physically there. But I wasn't fully *there*.

That's the part nobody talks about when life gets stretched thin. It's not just the hours — it's the presence you lose when your mind is always running ahead to the next thing.

I wasn't looking for some big dramatic change. I just wanted a little more margin. Enough breathing room to actually be in the moments I was technically already in.

Learning to build something flexible online didn't fix everything overnight — and I won't pretend it did. But it started giving me back something I didn't realize I was losing: the ability to be where I was.

Something I think about more than I used to:

What happens to our family if one of our income sources slows down or disappears?

It's not a fun question. But it's a real one.

For a long time, we were doing what most people do — working hard, trusting the paycheck, hoping things stayed stable. And that worked. Until it felt fragile.

I'm not someone who chases "passive income" dreams or believes there's a quick fix. But I do believe that having more than one way your family can earn money is just… wise. It's the same reason we keep an emergency fund. It's not pessimism — it's margin.

Building a second income stream online didn't happen overnight for me. It took learning, consistency, and showing up even when I wasn't sure what I was doing. But having something I built — something that works alongside our regular life, not instead of it — has given our family a kind of breathing room I didn't expect.
