Meet Sherry B. Williams: A True Voice for the People

Sherry B. Williams isn’t just running for City Council — she’s a spiritual leader, an advocate for empowerment, and a lifelong fighter for justice in our community. For years, she has stood up for our rights, spoken truth to power, and worked tirelessly to uplift and protect Black voices.

Now, it’s her turn to lead.

Sherry is committed to safeguarding our land, our legacy, and our future. She will not allow outside interests to swindle us out of what is rightfully ours. I’ve met her personally and witnessed her passion, her drive, and her deep commitment to the people. She is the leader we need — grounded, fearless, and ready to represent us with integrity.

Join me at her campaign launch on May 31st and meet Sherry in person. Come see what true leadership looks like — bold, authentic, and rooted in love for the community.

Let’s stand together. Let’s vote for Sherry B. Williams.

Join us on this powerful 7 day Daniel Fast

The Daniel Fast is a Christian dietary plan based on the biblical account of the prophet Daniel fasting for three weeks. It involves a partial fast where individuals abstain from certain foods for a set period, usually 21 days, to become more spiritually attuned.

The Daniel Fast emphasizes eating fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds, while avoiding animal products, preservatives, sugars, refined carbs, caffeine, alcohol, sweeteners, leavened bread, and deep-fried foods. Participants are also limited to drinking only water.

While the Daniel Fast is intended as a short-term observance, it can be challenging to sustain due to the extensive list of dietary restrictions. The plan may require significant meal planning and preparation, and may not resonate with those who do not share the spiritual motivations behind it. The restrictive nature of the diet could also lead to feelings of deprivation and an unhealthy relationship with food.

However, many of the healthy principles of the Daniel Fast, such as increased consumption of plant-based foods and reduced intake of processed items, can be productively incorporated into one’s overall lifestyle.

Let’s talk about it! Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.”
1 Corinthians 6:19–20

Health is undeniably a serious concern here in America. Currently, we find ourselves grappling with one of the highest obesity rates in the world, a reflection of broader issues that extend beyond individual choices. The hustle and bustle of modern life often lead to a poor work-life balance, leaving many people with little time or energy to dedicate to physical activity. Instead, we often choose convenience over nutrition, resulting in diets rich in processed foods, high in sugars and unhealthy fats.

Many of us are caught in a cycle: we feel the effects of our diet on our bodies, yet our busy schedules make it challenging to prioritize exercise or healthy eating habits. Fast food becomes a go-to solution in a world where every minute counts, yet that quick convenience comes at a steep cost to our overall health.

We need to support each other in breaking these patterns and rebuilding a culture that encourages healthier choices. Imagine a society where the aroma of wholesome meals fills our kitchens, where community gardens flourish in local parks, and where exercise is an integral part of our daily rhythm rather than an afterthought. Each step towards awareness and intentionality can lead us to a healthier, more balanced life.

Let’s start the conversation about making collective changes that acknowledge the challenges we face and actively promote a lifestyle that values our well-being. Together, we can turn the tide on America’s health crisis, making better choices accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
