โ๐๐๐๐ | Building Tomorrow's Success: NEUST COE conducts ME advances webinar
โ
โTo foster technological growth and redefine engineering practices among undergraduates and professionals, the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) College of Engineering (COE) - Mechanical Engineering Department, in coordination with the University Training Department, hosted the "Building Tomorrow's Success: Advances and Trends in Mechanical Engineering" webinar today, June 23.
โ
โOrganized by Engr. Nomer V. Sambrano, NEUST-COE ME Department Training Coordinator, the online seminar featured accomplished mechanical engineers whose expertise lie in the fields of entrepreneurship, control systems, automation, and mechatronics.
โ
โ"We have been exposed to technical trainings, and it is not far from our destinations that we could be owners of our respective companies which, I think, is the highest level of aspiration as Mechanical Engineers," said Engr. Jonathan P. San Juan, a Professional Mechanical Engineer who served as the PSIM National President in 2023.
โ
โIn his topic "Entrepreneurship: A Possible ME Destination", Engr. San Juan emphasized the key attributes that an engineer should possess to become successful in the business field, describing common scenarios that lead to the downfall of such endeavors and the importance of systematic planning and processes to avoid these tendencies.
โ
โEngr. Jose Ronaldo E. Rosello, Engineering Manager at R Square Consolidated Services Corp., then delivered valuable information and insights on his technical topic, "Industrial Automation through Instrumentation and Control."
โ
โ"At this point in time, we can say that we are now transitioning to the fifth industrial revolution. It is the adaptation of artificial intelligence in operations of the industry," stated Engr. Rosello, introducing instrumentation and control as a collaboration of engineering principles, a multi-discipline specialization in the current trends of the industry.
โ
โLastly, on "Mechatronics, Robotics, and Emerging Technologies," Engr. James Bernard C. Itao, Vice President for Construction and Maintenance Services at Industrial Controls Corporation, further discussed existing trends in technology, focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing), as well as Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) applications.
โ
โ"The impact [of key advancements in technology] on Philippine industries is quite high. But then again, in actuality, we are still on our way there," highlighted Engr. Itao as he proceeded with his discussion on the challenges and considerations brought upon by the current technological revolution.
โ
โTo conclude the webinar with an encouraging message, Engr. Feliciana P. Jacoba, Vice President for Academic Affairs of NEUST, first expressed her acknowledgement and gratitude towards the Mechanical Engineering Department of the institution and its personnel for hosting a successful webinar.
โ
โ"Look back what happened before, observe what is happening today, so that we could be able to appreciate what will be the 'tomorrow', the future of our field of discipline as we advance not only in these so-called trends, but more so of the technological trends in the mechanical engineering profession," exclaimed Engr. Jacoba in her parting inspirational remarks.
