๐ป DPWH Website Hacked Amid Protests โ ๏ธ๐ฅ
The Department of Public Works and Highways website was defaced by hacktivist group Darkframe Cyber Alliance, accusing the agency of corruption and negligence. : The defacement was carried out through an XSS vulnerability rather than a full site takeover. While this did not result in complete control of the website, it reveals a serious security flaw that leaves the system open to abuse and potentially more severe attacks if not properly fixed.
: The website of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) was defaced earlier today by a group calling itself the Darkframe Cyber Alliance, posting a strong message against corruption in the agency. The actors accused DPWH of siphoning public funds, delaying crucial road and bridge projects, and endangering lives through negligence and substandard infrastructure.
The cyberattack comes on the same day thousands of Filipinos gathered at Luneta Park in Manila to protest what they call the โrotting corruptionโ inside DPWH. Demonstrators denounced years of misuse of taxpayer money, citing crumbling roads, unsafe bridges, and incomplete flood control projects that have left communities vulnerable to disasters.
โEnough is enough, this betrayal of public trust will not be tolerated any longer,โ the protesters declared. Calls rang out for full transparency, independent audits, protection for whistleblowers, and real consequences for officials found guilty of stealing from the people.
The demonstration, which has drawn civil groups, activists, and ordinary citizens, has been amplified by the online message left by the Darkframe Cyber Alliance and allied groups, including Nullsec Philippines, Lulz Global, and the Albanian Cyber Army.
Chants of โNo to Corruption, DPWH Accountability, People Powerโ echoed through Luneta as protesters vowed not to stay silent. โThis is not just about stolen funds,โ one speaker said. โItโs about stolen futures, stolen safety, and stolen dignity. The time for fear is overโthe time for action is now.โ
