If you’re here for bourbon and sneakers, you might not know that I also serve on the public school board in my hometown. January is School Board Appreciation Month.

In my time serving, I’ve learned that this work can be thankless, difficult, and at times lonely—but it is also deeply fulfilling.

So tonight, I raise a glass of America’s favorite spirit to school board members everywhere. Thank you for showing up for your communities and your kids.

Good bourbon gets better with age — because someone paid attention to the timing.

I’m doing the same thing this week and getting a colonoscopy.
Preventive care isn’t glamorous, but it matters.

Here’s to growing older the right way 🥃🩺

2026 brings a fresh start — new opportunities, new obstacles, and new choices.
Whether it’s building new relationships, mending old ones, or releasing what no longer fits, I’m stepping into this year with intention and a positive mental attitude.
Here’s to growth, clarity, and leveling up.
Cheers to 2026 — now let’s go get it. 🥃

By now you’ve seen this slogan.
I created it. I love it. And I do my best to live by it every day.

As of November 1, it’s officially nationally registered 🇺🇸® — and that’s a moment I don’t take lightly.

I’m incredibly proud of this. What started as a mindset is now protected, official, and here to stay.
And yes… I’m putting this slogan on EVERYTHING.

Life is short.
Wear the sneakers.
Drink the bourbon®.

Cheers!🥃👟

Y’all, it’s been a good day—actually, a really good day. I’m feeling incredibly thankful, and for so many reasons.

Like most parents, I want my kids to do more than I did, have more than I had growing up, and most of all, to be happy. I know today is just one day, and yes, they probably got more than they deserved—but I truly believe they’re happy.

If I’m being honest, given the last couple of years, I’ve worried about their happiness. Days like today remind me just how much there is to be thankful for.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and takes time to count their blessings.

Cheers to 46 🥃
Blessed to see another year and ready to make this one better than the last.
Finally cracked open the Sneakerhead Blend—worth the wait.
(Yes, the “The Kid” hoodie irony is not lost on me 😂)
Life is short, wear the sneakers, drink the bourbon ®️

I’m still riding the high from getting my Executive Bourbon Steward certification! Connected with some awesome people in the bourbon space, and I’m excited to keep learning, sharing, and stepping up my game.
This little pin on my collar means a lot — it’s the next chapter. Cheers to leveling up! 🥃

I decided to take my love for bourbon to the next level. Today I earned my executive Bourbon steward certification through at in Louisville, Kentucky.
This premiere certification gives me the knowledge to evaluate bourbon at a professional level, understand its history and production, and guide others through truly elevated tasting experiences.
Not sure if it’s ironic or serendipity that I achieved this certification on the anniversary of the repeal of prohibition.
Either way I’m excited about the opportunities to come.
Here’s to the next chapter. 🥃🔥

I think the older I get the more I appreciate birthdays. Not necessarily any pomp and circumstance that might come with it but the blessing of another year on this planet.
It’s truly been a day of reflection, and I hit on all the emotions one could think of.
I’m genuinely thankful to see 45 and even more thankful to have been able to celebrate friends and family and had a little time to myself.
So here’s to my Micheal Jordan year (remember when he wore 45 for a minute) and all that it may bring!
Cheers! 🥃
(I meant to post this on my actually birthday, I’ll blame my forgetfulness on my old age 🤪)

Our Story

Black Dude White Dude explores a wide range of topics from the differing perspectives of two best friends. Leo Cummings III (Black Dude) and Todd Cate (White Dude) dive into the poignant and mundane—from race relations and raising their children to debates about who can do the most one-arm pushups (it’s Todd). Whether it’s back-and-forth banter between the two of them or in-depth conversations featuring invited guests from the central Arkansas area and beyond, Black Dude White Dude leaves listeners with food for thought and reasons to laugh out loud.
