My sweetheart battled a rare blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma for five years, before suddenly passing away. As a young widow I struggled with finding a purpose in my life. He became known as the Iron Lion during his battle. One day when creating a video game character I named mine IronButterflyHD in honor of his game tag. It completely made his day. This channel is in honor of his legacy and the light he left behind. One of his favorite video games was Destiny and his favorite character named Shaxx always talked about light. "Good work, Guardian. Your light is strong." If you are new to grief, or an experienced veteran. I hope these videos, messages and uplifting quotes can add a bit of light to your day.

You are gone...
and I am left alone.
I miss you

The absence of a loved one creates a void that can feel immense and isolating. The enduring feeling of missing them serves as a constant reminder of the profound impact they had on our lives.

Grief
Is the soul’s
scream.

It's the wind whispering through the empty branches of our being. Sometimes, the loudest pain makes no sound at all to the outside world. If you understand this, you're not alone. This feeling, this profound outcry of the heart, connects us in ways we often don't speak of. Sending gentle strength to anyone navigating this journey.

It's ok to cry.
It's ok to stay in bed.
It's ok to isolate and delve deeply into your grief.
It's now, these days.
You can do it.
Mark M

Allowing ourselves to experience its various stages, even the isolating ones, is a necessary part of healing. Giving ourselves permission to feel deeply, in our own way and in our own time, is a courageous act.

On days where
you only have 50% to give,
and you give all.
You gave 100%

Grief is exhausting. Even when feeling depleted, offering whatever we can muster is a complete and valid contribution. It’s about honoring our limitations while still acknowledging the value of the effort expended.

It's ok to acknowledge that today may be hard.
May you find
love woven into the memories
and may
hope for future reunions
give you strength.

Granting ourselves permission to feel the weight of a difficult day is an act of self-compassion. There's no shame in recognizing that some days are simply tougher than others. Acknowledging this reality allows us to be gentler with ourselves and to navigate the challenges with greater understanding.

i need the loves that stayed
and the ones i’ve created
since you left this world.
they are my water.
but my angel
i need you too.
you are my air.
my soul is quenched
but my lungs are gasping.

You were the very air I breathed, an essential element that nothing else can fully replace. Even surrounded by love, there's this persistent gasp, this yearning for your presence that feels as crucial as breath itself. It's reminder that while life finds ways to sustain us, some connections are so intrinsic that their absence leaves a void that no amount of love can entirely fill.

This enduring connection transcends our current existence, assuring us that love never truly fades. Until we are reunited, we live with joy and appreciation, knowing that a meaningful and joyful reunion awaits.
