Is going Organic expensive????
So I have seen this argument from both sides because I used to think it was âtoo expensiveâ too!
If comparing apples for apples, yes items are higher in price however, youâre not comparing apples for apples.
We used to buy so much food, spent a fortune on things we a) didnât need b) arenât even real food and c) gave us zero nutritional value.
When you look at how much money you are spending on alcohol, chocolate, crisps, bread, frozen chicken nuggets & fish fingers, protein bars, snack bars, cereal etc etc, it adds up to a lot, itâs mainly UPF and not even real food.
When you decide to embark on a healthier lifestyle, you start to reduce the amount of food you eat and save money on your shopping.
We started to eat a lot more meat, fish & vegetables and since learning all about pesticides, herbicides, preservatives, additives etc, I felt as though we were increasing our health issues by eating non organic because of the levels of toxic products used to grow, pack and feed the food we eat.
So we started to try to find more organic sources of our food to reduce our toxic load.
But not only that, going organic means you increase the nutrient density of your food which has more satiety so you are full up when you eat, meaning you eat less and provide your body with what it needs without increasing toxicity.
Making changes can seem daunting, but when you do it step by step you will see how positive, and simple it can be. Or work with a Health coach who will help you make a plan that works for you over time!
An exercise for those who want to change: Write a 3 day good diary. At the end, split it into 3 columns, 1) UPFâs 2) Whole food 3) Organic. And see for yourself how much of your diet is real food, how much is wasting money and what small change could you make to improve the quality of the food you are eating and feeding your family.
Wishing you all a happy & healthy day!

P.S. shout out to M&S for the amount of organic options! We are very limited to sources of organic food where we live, we use farm shops where we can but itâs not always possible. Aldi & Tesco have very limited options but M&S is amazing! đ¤Š
