My father was the man who set the model for the character that I too try to exhibit. His loving nature, empathy, kindness, quick wit, generosity, patience, intelligence, and gentle spirit are just a few examples of the traits that I too strive to express as my default behaviors. I am extremely grateful for his nurturing of my curiosity, desire to understand how reality operates, and have my own autonomous, unique identity.
His inquisitive nature and wanderlust still live on inside of my own being. Not once did he make me feel like I was incapable of achieving anything I set my mind to. He taught me chess at age 4. He introduced me DOS and BASIC at age 5 -- the catalysts seeding my fascination for a world of intangible, immutable logic that I am still in awe of daily. He set the framework for discipline, determination, and dedication in my own life.
If I've ever made you laugh, feel heard and respected, or know love; he deserves the credit. In a universe that is often overwhelming, he was my gracious, forgiving, consistent and reliable leader. Thank you for providing me the blueprints for navigating through this life with love as the map. I love you so much, dad. ❤️
