was created with the intent of bringing an informed frame of reference to the every-day life, and interests, of men and women living in the twenty-first century, with each article/conversation underscored, in one way or another, by the moral, doctrinal, and scriptural teachings of the Catholic Church. Here are some of the general topics which one will find discussed on the site, and which we invit
e you to engage in, with the hope of establishing a meaningful and mutually beneficial dialogue:
- We’ll talk about the brilliance of the holy Faith, its enduring and unceasing nature, and the significance and source of both – Christ Himself – as well as the mediatrix through which all knowledge and grace are imparted, the Blessed Virgin Mary.
- We’ll talk about Church teachings, mores, dogmas, and the questions in-between.
- We’ll talk about the Church’s holy rituals, specifically the Sacrifice of the Mass – the holiest of rituals – which sustains its life force, and the main building block of that same life – the family – through which the Church continually finds root, and therefore growth.
- We’ll talk about Church influence throughout the centuries, and the lives of its sons and daughters in-turn, from Paul to Aquinas, from de Sales to Lisieux, from Pecci to Sarto, from Pacelli to Wojtyla and Ratzinger, to Burke and Sarah, and many others.
- We’ll talk about how to truly live, and about what God has given us for our days on this earth, as well as man’s mark on upon the globe throughout the ages, in particularly the current one.
- We’ll talk about what makes us human, and the daily crosses which we share with Christ and His Mother; we’ll talk about what can be done to better carry our burdens, or when circumstances allow, to alleviate them completely.
- We’ll talk about physical well-being, particularly in the area of food, and the various joys this nourishment brings as the most central human need, from preparation to consumption, to sharing its fruits (no pun intended) with others, all of which will differ across a spectrum of cultures.
- We’ll talk about literature, from Dante to Dickens, from Benson to Chesterton, from Tolkien to Lewis and beyond, and both the knowledge and contentment which the written word has given to countless, burdened minds throughout the centuries.
- We’ll talk about film, discussing which great efforts are still left to us via this revolutionary medium, and how we can change the Hollywood of today for the better.
- And we’ll speak of all of this from a realistic, balanced perspective, along with anything and everything else which fits in-between, God willing, and keep the virtue of charity at the forefront. Oh, and we also have a book of short stories available on the site for anyone looking for an entertaining read, to say the least… Do check it out! Pax et bonum.
