DWSussman Photography/Retired Fine Art Photography David Sussman, owner of DWSussman Photography, is a Florida resident fine art photographer.

His collection includes limited edition one of a kind prints crafted onto canvas and stretched. His works are a reflection that represents the flavor of the Gulf Coast historical, natural and shoreline resources within this unique ecosystem. His work is photography as an art form, ‘first you have to see the environment you are in and capture it in the mind’s eye’. Now the camera becomes the artist

’s tools and extracting that image to the cameras sensor begins. "The camera need not be a cold mechanical device. Like the pen, it is as good as the man who uses it. It can be the extension of mind and heart." -- John Steinbeck.

1st sight this morning three deer were trapped inside our fence. Momma noticed us and leaped over the fence leaving the yearlings behind. They ran 200 feet one way and back when the smaller of the two jumped up 12 feet well over the fence. Opening our back gate encouraged the other to run through.

“Multicolored Heron” might be a more accurate name for this small wading bird, formerly known as the Louisiana Heron. The Tricolored Heron is one of my favorate mid size wadding birds.

They are back, our belowed colorful Painted Bunting. If you want to attack them; feed white millet, provide low-lying dense shrubs near your feeder for cover, place your feeder near cover but allow a view of the surroundings for safety and maybe use a feeder that has a cage or wire to keep larger birds and mammals out.

Arrived early at Celery Fields will little activity going on, I’m guessing from all the rain. I watch him preen through my long lens for some time now. With every feather in place its time to hunt for breakfast and found an eel.

When I came across this trio, I tried to photograph isolating or framing the Roseate Spoonbill's by themselves. They each flew off separately as if planned. Wouldn’t you know the pic that has the most interest are the three together.

I watched a Green Heron sitting on a power line just starring UP in the air. It finally tiered of me flew off and squawked on departure. I've never viewed one sitting this high up before.

Banded Sphinx Moth feeds right before daybreak. A sphinx moth's proboscis (tongue that sips nectar) may be more than 11 inches long on some large tropical species. Even with its long proboscis it would crawl well into the flower.
