Don't Miss Out! Rare Ming Dynasty Lohan Figures at Artemis Fine Arts! 🕉️

Immerse yourself in the tranquility of ancient China with this rare matched pair of Ming Dynasty Wood Lohan Figures, coming to the Pre-Columbian | Ancient | Ethnographic sale on July 10, 2025, at 8:00 AM GMT-6.

These impressive 16th- to 17th-century CE carvings offer a captivating visual narrative: one Lohan, an elder monk, embodies the wisdom of age with deeply incised wrinkles and a contemplative gaze, while the other radiates youthful serenity with a smooth, unlined face and peaceful composure.

Carved to the same scale and adorned in nearly identical flowing robes with remnants of original red, green, yellow, and black pigments, this true matching pair was once part of the same temple ensemble. Each figure even features a ritual cavity on the reverse, traditionally used to house sacred relics and empower the sculpture.

These magnificent pieces stand at an impressive 42 inches tall (106.7 cm), making them a commanding addition to any collection.

Mark your calendars! This is a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of history.

Sale Date: July 10, 2025 Time: 8:00 AM GMT-6
