"The past is never dead; it is not even passed," William Faulkner. That is the message in the opening pages of Jerry Marcus Z"l's first novel, published in 1982—“Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Zev.” A novel with a message that is as real now, in 2025—Never Forget is now, "it is not even passed!"

Main character Zev Segal is haunted by the past even though he did not personally experience the horrors of the Holocaust. Throughout the novel, Zev is haunted by nightmares, a reminder from the voices of The Righteous Ones to make a commitment to fight against the growing contemporary problem of global anti-Semitism. Marcus' novel was recommended in 1982 by the American Jewish Congress as an important work about the Holocaust, and is in the special book collection of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, as well as the National Library of Israel. Broken Trust—The Murder of Basketball Star Jack Molinas a 2007 novel by Jerry Marcus

Marcus used his knowledge of basketball and insights into human behavior to create a novel that illustrates how powerful business interests, religious hypocrites, and attorneys hide behind a façade of morality and justice.

Marcus explained: “It’s not only gamblers who want to control the odds by fixing games, and cheating the innocent. Who knows what makes a person turn to crime? Maybe it’s a corporate CEO, or a Chairman of the Board, who cheats the stockholders as well as his employees. In BROKEN TRUST, I created a fantasy scenario in which Jack Molinas turns to fixing games to take back control after a rabbi steals from his father… The motives of many members of the clergy are transparent. There are probably thousands of clergy— priests, rabbis, ministers, and especially television evangelists — who try to take advantage of the system.
