And just like that, Dear Rouge’s Lonesome High has officially celebrated its 1st anniversary 😘🎊🍾!

ICYW: yes, it gets better with age.

‘Hard to believe how fast time flies. What a ride it’s been. Life is a complete trip—and it takes us on the wildest, most unexpected journeys.

What blows my mind is how we write about life… and somehow, the music ends up taking us on a journey. These songs start out in their infancy, inspired by past experiences. But as time passes, they reveal something deeper—like they were quietly pointing toward the future all along. Then one day, the meaning just hits you, and you’re like, “Wait!!! That’s what the song was really about! That’s why we named the album this!”

It’s wild how the deeper meaning was already woven into Lonesome High—especially after the loss of Drew’s momma. She was our biggest fan. We still can’t believe she’s gone. This album will live on in her memory, and we know she’d be the first to tell us: “Keep being Dream Dreamers.” She always encouraged us in the most meaningful ways.

Life really is a blend of joy and sorrow. It’s sweeter because the people we love come and go. That’s what gives it all meaning.

Anyway—just spilling my heart out over here. I’m so proud of this record and the whole team that brought it to life. We couldn’t have done it without all of you cheering us on and blowing wind into these ol’ soul sails.’ - DR

Another look back at what truly was a wonderful to rock you gently into your weekend bliss. Trans-Canada Highwaymen were most definitely a highlight of this year’s CNE!!

‘Explosive Pics Vol 2 of 2 by Robert Georgeff. What a night it was at the Ex. Mark McKinney and Bruce McCulloch lit the fuse with an intro that was tough to live up to. We had to up our game. CNE’s been rolling out a pretty stacked lineup this year, eh!?

Dear Rouge kicked off the week with a blazing set - one for the books (they all are, really).

‘Still buzzing from last night at the CNE! 🎡🎤. A quick flight in and out…but we made it happen.
So grateful for the gift of music and the wild energy Toronto brought to the stage. And more than anything, feeling unbelievably lucky to get to be with you all and express our passions through music. Thanks Cold War Kids for sharing your stage with us.
