Our first share from Albania's capital city Tirana is from our visit to one of several former hideouts the Albanian government during its long communist era.

This top-secret nuclear bunker is now a new museum in the very centre of Tirana, behind the Public Order Ministry, and it hopes to show visitors how the Communist-era police persecuted the regime’s opponents.

At one time there were rumoured to be as many as 700,000, but the government says 175,000 were built.
