Much of Japanese culture and art is about the power of certain symbols and images. A recurrent theme in the street photography of our past issues has included elements of those symbols in daily life. Another theme has been cats. This is a fun article which addresses the power of both.

The calico cat was appointed stationmaster at the Kishi station in western Japan in 2007 and died early last week. Now she has been mourned by company officials
