🇰🇭 Cambodia Did Not Start This War — Thailand Did
In times of conflict, truth becomes the first casualty. Today, we are witnessing a dangerous distortion of truth, as many Thai voices on the internet are spreading a false narrative: that Thailand is the victim in a rising conflict with Cambodia. Let us be clear — Thailand started this war, and Cambodia is only defending itself.
Who fired first?
It is Thailand that crossed the line — whether that line was physical, at the border, or political, with dangerous provocations. The first shots were not fired by Cambodians. They were fired by Thai forces. They were fired by Thai decisions. They were fired by those in power in Thailand who chose violence over diplomacy.
And yet, despite clear signs of aggression, Thai social media is now flooded with posts that twist the truth. Thai influencers, netizens, and even some Thai media are crying “victim” — acting as if Cambodia suddenly woke up and chose violence. This is not only dishonest — it is an insult to the lives being lost, and the peace that ordinary citizens on both sides deeply desire.
Cambodia has always chosen peace.
Cambodia has suffered enough in our own history. We do not wish for war. Our people do not want to see soldiers march, guns fire, or families torn apart. We value peace, and we have never been the ones to threaten it.
But make no mistake — when our people are attacked, when our border is violated, when our dignity is insulted — we will defend ourselves. And we have every right to.
This is not about hatred between Thai and Khmer people. This is not about race or pride. This is about truth. And the truth is simple: Cambodia did not start this war. Thailand did.
Stop pretending to be the victim.
