The motion picture Industry collapse deepens, especially in the USA.....

Comparing production weekly listings over time, as I type, the lowest number of productions thus far sampled.

Aug 2021 to Apr 2024: (respectively)
39 pages vs. 30 pages
161 vs. 100 TOTAL production listings (38% drop)
105 vs. 38 DOMESTIC production listings (64% drop)

Aug 2021:
- 56 (35%) International and 105 (65%) domestic productions.
- 105 US vs 24 Canadian productions (4.38:1 ratio)

Apr 2025:
- 38 (38%) International and 62 (62%) domestic productions.
- 38 US vs 32 Canadian productions (1.19:1 ratio)

So 2/3 of total listings with stated production locations were US-made 3.5 years ago, now 2/3 are foreign-made.
In Aug 2021, for every 8 productions made in Canada, 35 would shoot in the US. By Apr 2025, For every 16 productions made in Canada, there were only 19 productions shot in the US. That's a devastating swing in the ratio between the countries.

NEW WORK!

In the Spring of 2024 I was the main-unit DIT for the first season of this new Blumhouse/Amazon series "The Bondsman," based at Riverwood Studios in Senoia.

The series, about a resurrected bounty hunter working to save his own soul, mixes crime, horror, comedy, and music.

People Magazine piece on the upcoming release of "Queen of the Ring," an indie-feature on which I was DIT back in the summer of 2023 in Louisville, KY. Official trailer just dropped for "The Alto Knights." I was DIT on the modest 2nd Unit for this feature shot at the tail end of 2022 in Cincinnati. Lots of driving and landscape shots with my rig in a follow van with 2nd unit DP Chris Duskin.

I was the 2nd Unit DIT for "Red One," now streaming on Amazon Prime. This got a lot of shade online, but after watching it, I don't really get it - I've seen WAY worse. I've worked on WAY worse. This is a solid, fun, different Christmas movie. Yeah it's busy and the action is over the top, but I was expecting this to be SO much worse based on the online reviews.

NEW WORK.

Trailer just dropped for the Mildred Burke indie biopic I DIT'd back in the summer of 2023. It was one of the first shows to resume production with a SAG waiver as their strike started with only about 7 production days left.

Cool story and loved meeting and working with a bunch of new-to-me folks in Louisville. Coming March 2025.
