"Downtown χωρίς bakıra" ("(going) Downtown without a dime") is a Web radio show about what's going on in Nicosia and beyond - meaning that it explores and discusses various subjects that directly, or inderectly, deal with the old town: its people, the developments, its history, architecture, the division and conflict, the communities, the artists, policy making, urban planning, good things/bad things and anything else relevant. With the new season, we have expanded the variety of subjects (to include artists, social issues, folks like you and I) and have introduced a more open format, where anyone can join in the studio and put questions to the quests and discuss issues they like :). The show is inspired and partly started by the initiative "Old Nicosia Revealed" - https://www.facebook.com/old.nicosia.revealed . The show is organized by Orestis Tringides and presented by him and the bunch of friends/guests that join every week. MYCYradio is an housed at and managed by the Cyprus Community Media Centre ( CCMC - http://www.cypruscommunitymedia.org ) along with the support of the European Commission Representation in Cyprus. It aims to bring pluralism and diversity in its programming, both in terms of people and themes (visit www.mycyradio.eu for more info).
