Miami, Florida, United States?Libna Stevens/IAD Thousands of ordained church elders from throughout the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America will have the opportunity to baptize new believers into the church throughout thousands of congregations on Saturday, Sep. 28, 2013.

This Wednesday, between 1 p.m. and 1:20 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time, Chicago’s WBEZ 91.5 FM radio station will interview a Seventh-day Adventist on its “Worldview” feature. General Conference spokesman Ansel Oliver will discuss Adventist Pastor Antonio Monteiro, who is in jail in the West African country of Togo.

Monteiro has been arbitrarily held for more than 500 days, with no evidence and no trial.

We hope you’ll tune in to listen and post the interview link on your social media accounts. Our individual participation as a world church could be a key step in gaining more publicity in helping to get Monterio out of prison.

PSALMS 4
The New International Version, starts this chapter with a note: “For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm of David.” This was a notation for the director of music to play stringed instruments when reading or singing this particular psalm. Much like certain drinks are associated with certain foods, this psalm was paired with stringed instruments. Unfortunately, we will never hear, until Heaven, what David had originally intended.

In David’s distress, he cries out to God and feels he is not being heard. He’s possibly still feeling the blow of Absalom’s conspiracy against him. He comforts himself with the head knowledge to keep trusting in God, although his heart is not quite convinced. In faith he prays as he lies down, “for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

May you experience the peace and protection of dwelling in the Lord today.
