From the crisp lines and vibrant colors of a stylish resort logo to the subtle, rich flavor of a homemade sourdough loaf, everything Lauren Suriani makes is infused with purpose and precision. As Senior Brand Manager at Stratton Mountain Resort, Suriani has left her mark on the mountain through vibrant branding designs and masterfully-crafted signs throughout the village and beyond. Her artistry also finds life beyond Stratton. It shines through her Etsy shop, RungDesignCraft, where she creates hand-painted signs and woodworks with a personal edge; and in her home kitchen, where she bakes nourishing loaves of sourdough bread with care and intention. For this edition of Stratton Spotlight, Suriani sat down with us to reflect on her journey—from growing up in Buffalo, New York, to managing the branding of one of the most iconic resorts in the Northeast. She shared insights into her creative process, her passion for traditional sign painting, and even gave us the inside scoop on her home baking secrets with a delectable sourdough recipe.

This 30th anniversary event showcased more than 130 vendors from across New England, including both returning favorites and new participants. To recognize their commitment, vendors received special garlic bulb–shaped signs indicating the number of years they’ve vended with the festival (1+ years, 5+ years, 10+ years, 15+ years and 20+ years). Anniversary sponsors of 2025 were also honored with beautifully engraved maple cutting boards donated by JK Adams, highlighting their support of the Chamber’s most significant fundraising event of the year. Vendors consistently praise Garlic Town organizers for their efficiency, strong communication, and commitment to creating a seamless experience for both merchants and attendees.

The Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the 30th Anniversary of Southern Vermont’s most flavorful festival!

Personally, I don’t think there’s anything better than the smell and taste of garlic. In my kitchen, garlic goes in almost everything, and there is never, ever “too much” of it. If you head to downtown Bennington on August 30 between 10am and 5pm, you’ll smell the unmistakable aroma of garlic in every imaginable form— sautéed, roasted, fried, pickled, braided, baked, and perhaps even blended into ice cream. That’s when you know you’ve officially arrived in Garlic Town USA.

We’re thrilled to announce that Vermont-based musician, writer, and recovery advocate, Benjamin Lerner will be making his Berkshire stage debut just across the Southern Vermont border. His powerful new one-man concert—PERFORMER—will debut at Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield, MA on September 3, 2025.

The one-night-only performance combines elements of Hip-Hop, classical piano, spoken word, and melodic standards, Lerner will share his journey through addiction and recovery with emotional depth and dynamic musicality. All proceeds from the event will support three nonprofit organizations that foster creativity and recovery: BSC’s Musical Theatre Lab, Living in Recovery, and the George B. Crane Memorial Center—each of which is committed to community transformation on a deep level.
