Dead Reckonings, a review magazine for the horror field, is currently co-edited by Alex Houstoun and Michael J. Joshi and Jack Haringa, and June Pulliam and Tony Fonseca. Dead Reckonings was nominated for the International Horror Guild Award for a Periodical in 2007. Since Issue 1 in 2007, it has featured columns by Ramsey Campbell, and by Joshi. Its list of current reviewers includes Richard Blei

ler, Hank Wagner, Martin Andersson, Ben Fisher, John Edgar Browning, Robert Butterfield, Michael Marano, Jim Rockhill, Darrell Schweitzer, Van Viator, Bev Vincent, Andy Trevathan, Kendra Ditto, June Pulliam and Oren Vinogradov. Past reviewers have included Joshi, Haringa, Paula Guran, Robert Morrish, Mike Ashley, Sherry Austin, Bernadette Bosky, Donald R. Burleson, Matt Cardin, Gary William Crawford, and Stefan Dziemianowicz. Issues are $7.50 each, and back issues are available. Subscriptions are $15.00 annually. Dead Reckonings is published by Hippocampus Press, an American publisher of fantasy, horror and science fiction. Hippocampus specializes in reprints or first editions of work by authors such as H. Lovecraft and Clark Ashton Smith, as well as the fiction of Lord Dunsany and Algernon Blackwood. It also publishes horror poetry by authors such as Smith, George Sterling, Samuel Loveman, W. Pugmire, and others, and critical work by Joshi. Founded by Derrick Hussey in 1999, Hippocampus publishes the journals Spectral Realms, Dead Reckonings and Lovecraft Annual.

Good news! We have been reanimated as the reviews section of S. T. Joshi's Penumbra: A Journal of Weird Fiction and Criticism, now a semiannual. We'll still be featuring reviews by familiar names such as Darrell Schweitzer, Karen Joan Kohoutek, and Ramsey Campbell.

PENUMBRA heralds the arrival of Dead Reckonings as the reviews section of our journal, now to be published twice yearly instead of as an annual!

It is with sadness we announce that DEAD RECKONINGS is ceasing publication, effective immediately. The Spring 2025 issue will not be published. Thank you for eighteen years of interest and support.
