Remembers Ananda Lewis: A Voice That Raised a Generation

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of beloved MTV VJ, Ananda Lewis. With grace, intelligence, and undeniable charisma, Ananda left a lasting mark not only on our network but on an entire generation of music lovers.

During her time at MTV, Ananda wasn’t just a host — she was a force. Whether she was introducing the latest music video, diving into cultural conversations, or sitting down for heartfelt interviews with some of the biggest names in entertainment, she did it all with authenticity, warmth, and a fearless spirit. Her presence on our screens during the late ‘90s and early 2000s helped shape the voice of MTV and influenced how young people engaged with the world around them.

Ananda Lewis was more than a VJ. She was an advocate, a storyteller, and a role model who used her platform to speak truth, uplift voices, and connect deeply with viewers. Her legacy lives on in the countless fans she inspired, the boundaries she pushed, and the conversations she started.

Our thoughts are with Ananda’s family, friends, and everyone whose lives she touched. Thank you, Ananda, for the light you brought to MTV and to so many hearts around the world.

Fans of the early seasons of Real Housewives of Atlanta will remember the unforgettable and fabulous . According to an interview with — and first shared via — Dwight recently revealed he’s been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

He first found out in January after attending a health fair at his church, where bloodwork led to a follow-up PSA test in April that confirmed the diagnosis. Dwight shared,
“I was shocked. I was angry. I was just emotionally a wreck… When you hear the word cancer, you freak out. I think I’m still freaked out.”

Although there was family history of prostate cancer on his mother’s side, Dwight had been told that didn’t put him at high risk. Still, he’s now working closely with doctors on a treatment plan and is urging others—especially Black men—to get screened and prioritize their health.
