On November 13, the Juniors of the Asian Studies program embarked on a journey all the way leading to The Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary Manaoag, Pangasinan, for a pilgrimage that aimed to enhance the students’ faith and deepen their understanding of the way devotion comes alive through the intercession of Our Lady of the Rosary.

The Pilgrimage began with a Celebration of the Holy Eucharist to honor the feast day of St. Martin De Porres and Our Lady of the Rosary Manaoag, which was immediately followed by a conversation or session with the novices or brothers that was preceded by Brother Julian Christopher or Brother JC, who emphasized the importance of hope and prayer.

On October 21, the Asian Studies General Assembly brought together students, teachers, and guild leaders in an inspiring morning of camaraderie. From 9:20 AM to 12:40 PM, the event had insightful discussions by the ASN Executive Board, Mr. Jonathan Eli Libut, PhD, Ms. Ma. Regina Agustin, MPS, and the Guild Heads, sharing the recent milestones and progress of the Asian Studies community.

Hosted by Mr. Arwinn Saplor and Ms. Jezzie Rae Agoncillo, the gathering gave students a glimpse of the professional and personal journeys that influenced their colleagues’ and mentors’ interest in the program and the entire Asian Studies community. The session also unveiled the future directions of the Asian Studies Society (ASSOC), led by its president, Ms. Katrina April Ginete.

With its vibrant and maverick theme, "Catch 'Em All! Asian Studies General Assembly and Gathering of Guild Masters," the event captured the spirit of curiosity and camaraderie. It was more than an organizational meeting; it became a celebration of shared purpose, building stronger bonds, renewed motivation, and a deeper sense of belonging among Asian Studies students, faculty, and stakeholders.

On October 17, Associate Professor Louis Ng of National University of Singapore College (NUS College), delivered an inspiring lecture titled “From Activist to Politician to Academic: What I Learned About Changing the World (and Myself)”. He shared his transformative journey from animal welfare activist to parliamentarian, and now academic, offering insights on leadership, purpose, and personal growth. The lecture was attended by students and faculty from the Asian Studies program.

NUS College also spearheads the Asian Undergraduate Symposium (AUS), a program that brings together undergraduate students across Asia for cultural exchange, networking, and capacity building. During the event, former AUS delegates Ronan Timothy Asturias (currently in third year Asian Studies), Pauly Battung, and Khyl Ashlee Ramos reflected on their enriching experiences at NUS and how the symposium shaped their academic and personal development.
