The 28th Long Island International Film Festival is July 9-13 in Bellmore. Halo of Oceanside is in full throttle this month with Patch activities, culminating with its day-long party on June 14.
But the nightclub, the only LGBTQ bar in Nassau County, almost had anything to celebrate. Their landlord began the eviction process last month. Owner Kyle Savage, though, launched a GoFundMe for the community help lend support for Halo, which opened in 2023.

A new documentary is giving audiences is a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a nephrology nurses and the NYU Langone Dialysis Center in Mineola is featured. The hospital's senior director of dialysis operations, Faith Lynch, discusses what goes into being part of the department's nursing staff. Lynch, who is also part of the documentary "I Want to Live," available on YouTube, said a special bond is formed with dialysis patients.
