He gets his car serviced regularly and no faults have been found — yet the mileage keeps falling.

Mileage refers to the distance a car or motorcycle can travel using one liter of fuel. Experts say mileage may vary depending on the type of vehicle. However, a sudden drop in mileage for the same vehicle usually indicates either a mechanical fault or poor fuel quality. Adulterated and low-grade fuel has become more common in the market, causing vehicles to run shorter distances on the same amount of fuel.

The Interim Government has issued a new set of guidelines containing 12 specific instructions regarding travel to the Saint Martin Island to protect the unique natural beauty, environment, ecosystem, and biodiversity of Saint Martin’s Island.

The Environment-2 Wing of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change today issued a notification in this connection, said a ministry press release.

These guidelines have been implemented under Section 13 of the Bangladesh Environment Conservation Act, 1995 (Act No. 1 of 1995) and in accordance with the “Guidelines for the Protection of Environment, Ecosystem and Biodiversity of Saint Martin’s Island and for Eco-Friendly Tourism, 2023” (S.R.O No. 165-Law/2023, dated May 23, 2023).

Jamaat-e-Islami raised objections regarding several advisers at a meeting with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.

However, the party did not disclose the names of those involved.

After the meeting at the State Guesthouse Jamuna on Wednesday evening, Jamaat’s Naib-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher told reporters, “We have raised concerns about certain advisers, not all of them. We said that some people may be misleading you (the Chief Adviser). We have confidence in you, but some individuals by your side may mislead you and act in favour of a particular party. You need to be cautious about them.”

The distance from Kuril to Sadarghat is 14 kilometers. One afternoon, Google Maps showed it would take 1 hour 24 minutes by car with traffic, and just 31 minutes without it.
