Harsh truth: no one cares what you have to say unless it’s useful. ⁣

⁣If there’s one thing you remember with marketing it’s that the only thing anyone cares about is what YOU can do for THEM.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Therefore, your posts need to be high-quality, valuable content that they’ll find useful.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣What exactly do I mean by “valuable”?⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Valuable content offers something useful to the consumer. ⁣
⁣⁣
⁣It could be a how-to or a best practices guide including tips and tricks.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Teach them how to do what they could pay YOU to do.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Aside from your followers coming to know, like and trust you, there are a couple reasons why this is so effective: ⁣
⁣⁣
⁣1️⃣ It displays your expertise within your niche.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Many people are unlikely to go to the lengths required to truly nail their online marketing and posting. ⁣
⁣When you’ve clearly demonstrated your value and knowledge they are much more likely to hire you or someone else to do it for them.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣2️⃣ You’re engaging in the rule of reciprocity.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣In Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B. Cialdini, Cialdini talks about the principle of reciprocity — if you offer your services for free to a few people, it’s likely that at least one of them will return the favor by offering you ongoing work. ⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Your “free” services are your pieces of high-value, actionable content. ⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Whether people realise it or not, you are priming them to say “yes” when you do eventually ask for the sale/action.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Anyone can throw up a quick post. ⁣

⁣A person/business/brand worth engaging with offers content that the follower can save for later and refer back to.⁣

⁣If you're not using social media to market your business then you're missing out.⁣

⁣How can you amplify your brand through social media marketing? The first step is having a plan in place/content strategy. ⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Without a content strategy you’ll waste your time posting for the sake of posting without any payoff.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣It’s one thing to know you need to be active and posting valuable content, but it’s another to actually know WHAT to post.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣For this, you need a content strategy.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Creating a content strategy begins with 3 questions:⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⚡️ What is my goal?⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⚡️ Who am I posting for?⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⚡️ What do they want from me?⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Let’s start with your goal:⁣
⁣⁣
⁣What is the ultimate action you want to achieve from posting? Is it to sell a product? Sell a service? Create brand awareness? Build your network? ⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Your goal will help you direct your audience to the intended action. ⁣
⁣⁣
⁣If you’re not clear on your goals, you won’t be clear in your brand message and you won’t see the results you’re hoping for. ⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Once you’re sure of your goal, you need to get to know your market:⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Who is she? ⁣
⁣Where online does he like to hang out?⁣
⁣How much do they earn?⁣
⁣What are their interests?⁣
⁣What are their hopes, dreams and desires?⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Spend some time brainstorming everything you know about your target market and create an avatar complete with a name and photo of who they are.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Next, think about what that person wants and needs from you:⁣
⁣⁣
⁣How can you make their day better/easier?⁣
⁣⁣
⁣What can you offer that will solve a problem they have?⁣
⁣⁣
⁣What kind of content do they want from you?⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Once you’re clear on these three things, you can begin to create content that is high-quality and valuable.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣When you know where and what online forums and platforms your target audience hangs out on, you’ll know where to post it.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣It’s not about you, it’s about THEM.⁣

⁣Instagram rewards engagement, so the more active you can be with your target market leading up to posting - the better!⁣

⁣2️⃣ Giving value⁣
⁣Why should your followers care about you and your page? They want to know what’s in it for THEM! Everything you post should be with your following in mind. ⁣

⁣3️⃣ Starting conversations⁣
⁣Create thought-provoking content with a strong call-to-action at the end so people are more likely to engage. Make sure you respond to every single comment as Instagram treats these as a new comment in their own right!⁣

⁣You will see your engagement and following grow.⁣

⁣If you just post for the sake of posting you won’t get anywhere! Every single post you make needs to have a goal and intention. ⁣

⁣If they know, like and trust you, they’ll buy your product/listen to what you have to say.⁣

⁣So how do you connect with your customer enough that they’ll trust you?⁣

⁣The secret is that content is KING.⁣

⁣When you deliver content that lands on a personal level, you’re building a relationship with your customers. ⁣

⁣1️⃣ Make it all about them. How does what you have to offer make their lives better?⁣

⁣Benefits and FEATURES are not the same thing. The benefits of your product/business/service offer value to your customer. Benefits offer an improvement to your lifestyle while features are simply attributes.⁣

⁣2️⃣ What makes you unique?⁣
⁣ ⁣
⁣Why should a customer buy from you and not your competitor? What sets you apart from the pack?⁣
⁣ ⁣
⁣3️⃣ Know your audience.⁣

⁣Don’t just write for the sake of writing. Think about who your exact target market is and narrow it down to an avatar of a single person. What are their wants, needs, dreams and desires? Write for THEM.⁣
