This summer, Bert Patterson, WICBâs beloved, long-time host of Sunday Morning Jazz, passed away. In celebration of his memory, Yusef (DJ Sapien), WICB Station Manager, and Rhys Finch (Dr. CrowdPleaser), Ithaca Collegeâs Manager of TV & Radio Operations, will be hosting a memorial show for Bert during the âSunday Morning Jazzâ show on Sun., Sept. 7 from 8-10 a.m. on WICB.
Sunday Morning Jazz will continue on WICB, but without Bert, it will never be quite the same. We are forever grateful for his contributions to and love for the art form. Additionally, we are expanding our weekday âJazz Impressionsâ show to also air on Saturdays from noon-2 p.m. going forward.
Bertâs friends are hosting a memorial celebration for Bert on Sat., Sept 6 from 3-5 p.m. at the Small Pavilion at Stewart Park. The event is open to all and dessert will be served. Guests are encouraged to bring a story or memory of Bert to share.
