Correct Money – Brand Identity Project
This was an especially interesting project. Correct Money is a piggy bank service, but not your typical one. It was designed primarily for market women, small business owners, and even larger businesses—specifically those who may not have the time to visit traditional banks or might not be as educationally savvy.
In Yoruba culture, this kind of savings system is known as Ajo (pronounced Ah-Jaw) a trusted, informal savings method where people contribute small amounts daily and receive a lump sum later. The goal was to create a brand identity that felt both unique and familiar to this audience.
These businesses often handle small daily cash amounts, so Correct Money provides a way to collect and manage those funds consistently and safely. What made this project truly special was the creation of a mascot—a relatable and engaging character that helped humanize the brand and connect with its target audience.
We also drew inspiration from Adire, a traditional Yoruba fabric, incorporating its patterns into the branding. This visual element became a recurring theme across all brand materials, giving the identity a deep cultural resonance while remaining modern and accessible.
