Serenity Books and San Fedele Press
Present a Book of Fiction and Memoir To Be Launched
November 12th from 2:00p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Jersey Shore Art Center.

After a memorable week in Chianti, writers inspired by writers Kaylie Jones and Judy Mandel have collected their work in a volume called “Jewels of San Fedele.” The book, edited by D Ferrara and Patricia Florio shares the stories of a group of women, who, although mostly strangers to each other, became close during their time at Borgo San Fedele. The pieces include childhood idylls and traumas, aspirational snippets, imagined parental monologues and wickedly funny essays.

Housed in what had been a medieval monastery compound, the course was grounded in informal classroom discussions and guided prompts. Every day, students, who ranged from published authors to neophytes, were stretched in a warm and supportive atmosphere that unlocked their fiction and memoirs. Critiques, though extensive, were respectful and constructive. Both Jones and Mandel, well-regarded writers and teachers, worked with students to unleash their creative work.

To celebrate the launch of “Jewels of San Fedele,” San Fedele Press will host a reading at the Jersey Shore Art Center in Ocean Grove, to be followed by a dessert buffet prepared by contributor Brigitte Carroll. All are welcome. The reading will begin at 2 pm.

The Jersey Shore Art Center is housed in an historical building at 66 S Main St. Ocean Grove, NJ 07756. Parking is free. Directions can be found on the Center’s site:
