At the start of a new year, I always think back to some of the "firsts" in my life. This was shot on the Otter Hiking Trail. It was my first time hiking the trail, as well as the first time I was commissioned by Weg magazine for a hike. At this point, I had just received my first digital camera, the Canon 20D with 10 megapixels of digital goodness. However, I decided that this hike deserved to be shot on film. So, I lugged 10 rolls of Fuji Velvia and Provia along with my Canon EOS 3, with three lenses and a tripod. In the end, it was worth it! For those who care, this was shot on Fuji Velvia at 100 ISO, pushed processed by one and a third stops. Exposure was probably around two seconds, and I used a gradient filter. The colour is unchanged from what was captured on film. I still love the look.
