Just how important was WBCN? Check out this video- Squeeze remains one of my all time favorite bands. Glenn Tilbrook when playing Boston always changed the Goodbye Girl lyrics from "My wife has moved to Guernsey" to "My wife has moved to Boston" which is the lyrics on the US single. I've watched videos of Squeeze in NY sing Boston, and on this 1981 LA video it's Boston.

It was BCN that played Squeeze from the start- the New England audience always packed the venues- it was you and me. It was Oedi and Bob, Danny, Charles, Ken, Mark, Albert, Lisa, Tami, and all those who used their hourly "O" for a Squeeze song.

Glenn could have chosen anywhere, he chose Boston.

Cleaning out the garage and found this. David Bieber & Chachi ran a Grateful Dead promotion- guess the number of bumper stickers in a coffin and win a Cadillac hearse. I got the job of procuring the coffin. At the time it was kept quiet where it came from- kinda "drive around back..." and it was sold to me, not the station. I'm guessing today it's not a big deal.

It was unfinished pine, I stained and urethaned it at home, once in the studios more than one person goofed with it.... including Jamie and Mark.

It's a classy place with great food and kind staff.

Robin Young shows up with an authentic letter from Duane Ingalls Glasscock. I can't remember the "other" story... but didn't Robin unlist her phone after Duane called on air? And something Duane said to her, "do you mind if I eat while you smoke?" ...so me, the lucky wiseguy today when I heard her name yelled, "Robin, Do you smoke??!!" No one got it, and Charles was too far to hear it... Rotten ether...
