In case you didn’t already know, I’m a HUGE Windsor International Film Festival fan 😉🎬🍿

Every year I watch tons of movies during the festival, but did you know that WIFF also offers monthly screenings at The Capitol Theatre Windsor! I love being able to catch a movie downtown and fuel my craving before the big festival in late October/early November.

I find that stepping out of your world and into a movie theatre is the perfect way to destress after a busy work day.

Plus, they always bring the coolest films to Windsor, and sometimes even exclusive screenings that are the first in the whole country!

I had the pleasure of meeting Ann Handley in person a couple years ago at the Digital Summit in Detroit. I’ve always respected her philosophy on empathy, customer-centric storytelling, and building real connections through authentic writing. This quote from her is an important reminder at a time when empathy seems to be in short supply.

If you’re struggling to really connect with your desired community online, take a page out of Ann’s book and focus on putting the customer’s needs before yours, centring them as the hero of your brand story and focusing on sharing the truth well, instead of using fluff for the sake of making things sound better.

I love a holiday Monday! You get a bonus Sunday and then you come back to a short work week ahead.

The only downside? I now have to cram five days of meetings and work into four so I don’t fall behind lol

Luckily I soaked up a lot of sunshine, got some fresh air and spent time with the people I love this weekend, so I’m ready to hit the ground running today 🏃🏻‍♀️
