High-Stakes Campaigning Ends in Rajpora: Mudasir Hassan and Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir in Tight Race
133 polling stations have been established in the constituency,1,09,543 lakh voters to decide fate of 10 candidates on Sep 18; elaborate security arrangements have been made for the polls to ensure incident free elections, say official
(Rajpora ), Pulwama Sep 16: The campaigning for the Rajpora assembly seat came to an end on Monday evening with all the contesting candidates making a last attempt to woo the voters. The constituency will go to polls on Wednesday in the first phase of polls.
Contesting candidates held series of programmes on the last day of the campaigning including road shows in various parts of the constituency.
In the Rajpora constituency, Mudasir Hassan from the Aam Aadmi Party is gaining significant momentum with widespread support in the area. His primary competitor, Ghulam Muhiduddin Mir from the National Conference, is also experiencing strong backing, leading to a close contest between the two. This tight race reflects the growing complexity of the political landscape in Rajpora, as both candidates fight hard for a victory in what could be a pivotal seat in the upcoming elections.
An official told that elaborate security arrangements have been made for the polls to ensure that security arrangements are foolproof,” he said.
“133 Polling Stations have been set up across the constituency, with 1,09,543 voters are enrolled including 54,554 males, 54,983 females, and 6 transgender adding the voting will take place from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm and before that there will be a mock poll in the Polling Stations in presence of the polling agents. Also, the voting will continue even after 6.00 pm, if the voter’s queue is still there in the Polling Station premises to exercise their right to vote”, he said.
The high-stakes contest in Rajpora constituency has attracted a diverse array of 10 candidates from various political parties and independent groups. Among the prominent contenders are Mudasir Hassan from (Aam Aadmi Party), Gh Mohiuddin Mir From( NC) ,Syed Basheer from( PDP) Daisy Raina from Republican Party, Altaf Bhat from( AIP ) Arsheed bhat from (BJP) Gulam Nabi Digoo (Liberal Democratic Party),Arun Kumar Raina (Nationalist Congress Party),Gulam Nabi Wani (Democratic Progressive Azad Party) Gulam Hassan Malik (Independent).
