I’m a day late & a dollar short…Here’s last night’s ‘Facebook Post of the Night.’ Margo Price released her new record Hard Headed Woman, which is the first record that Price has recorded in the city she’s called home for the last 20 years: Nashville. Recorded at RCA Studio A, Hard Headed Woman features witty lyrics, authentic songwriting from Price and her team of songwriters, and the sense that she’s never felt more like herself as an artist, unapologetically doubling down on her views and thoughts. Sonically, the record features classic country compositions, with messages that are timeless yet urgent, needing to be heard by today’s country listener.
The record also features some stellar collaborations, including contributions from Jesse Welles, Kris Kristofferson, and Rodney Crowell, as well as a Waylon Jennings song that his widow, Jessi Colter, encouraged her to sing.
But one of the early standouts on Hard Headed Woman is her collaboration with Tyler Childers.
Price enlisted Childers for a melancholy duet, “Love Me Like You Used To Do.” The heartbreakingly beautiful ballad showcases a classic country sound, with both artists singing the heartbreaking yet loving lyrics. It’s my ‘Facebook Post of the Night’

POST TUE
Lainey Wilson has revealed which track off her Whirlwind (Deluxe) project she believes will stand the test of time.
The expanded version of her GRAMMY-winning album, Whirlwind, arrived on August 22 with five additional tracks including “Bell Bottoms Up,” “King Ranch, King George, King James,” “Yesterday, All Day, Every Day,” and the chart-climbing “Somewhere Over Laredo.” While Wilson says she is proud of the entire collection, there is one that stands out as her favorite – “Peace, Love, and Cowboys.”
“One of my favorite songs I’ve ever written is on there. It’s called “Peace, Love, and Cowboys.” You just kind of feel like the song’s going to be around for a long time, even if that just means that you’re going to sing it 30, 50 years from now. And so that’s how I felt about it. I was like, I’d be okay with singing the song for the rest of forever.” Check it out on our ‘Facebook Post of the Night’

Chris Young has another new song, from his forthcoming I Didn’t Come Here To Leave album, out on October 17. Young just dropped “Jesus, Momma, Country Radio.” The song, written by Young, along with Chris DeStefano, Taylor Phillips and Josh Phillips, is an uptempo, feel-good track that seems destined to be a hit.
Young recently announced his It Must Be Christmas Tour, kicking off on November 20 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Find all of Young’s music and upcoming shows at ChrisYoungCountry.com. Watch the video for “Jesus, Momma, Country Radio’ on our ‘Facebook Post of the Night’

“Go Rest High On That Mountain” was written by Vince Gill himself, and was recorded in 1994 to appear on his album When Love Finds You. But Gill began writing the song many years before. In 1989 after the tragic death of Keith Whitley, this is where Gill was first struck by inspiration. But never quite got the song to where he wanted it to be, and it remained on the shelf. When Gill’s older brother Bob died in 1993, that is what inspired Vince to complete it. “Go Rest High On That Mountain” was recorded with harmony vocals from Ricky Skaggs and Patty Loveless,
Patty Loveless and Ricky Skaggs reprised their roles in the music video for the song, which was filmed at the Ryman Auditorium. In 1995, the Ryman was mostly shuttered and abandoned, making the appearance of the Mother Church in the video that much more rare and special.
“Go Rest High On That Mountain” won the Grammy Awards for Best Male Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Song, as well as the CMA Song of the Year. Soon after, the song began to be selected for the eulogies of country fans and their families on a regular basis.
I have the performance as today’s ‘Facebook Post of the Day’

Country music isn’t just here to entertain. It is here to heal. And few songs have the healing power, and present such grace and adulation for a fallen friend, loved one, or fellow country great.

Zach Top‘s highly anticipated sophomore record is finally gifted to fans, laying down 15 songs of classic country gold. While Zach Top shared that he was honored to head the movement of reviving the classic sound, he was not attempting to be the “’90s gimmick” guy.
“When I write and sing and play, this is what comes out of me. I’m obviously very heavily influenced by that stuff, but in all my time being a student of the music and digging back, I went way further back from the ’90s, you know. It was Merle, George Jones, Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, back to the ’40s and ’50s.”
The ACM New Male Artist of the Year wanted that statement that he’s here to stay to resonate with fans with the release of his sophomore record, sharing with Dierks Bentley, the album’s title resonated with him in that way:
“It’s kind of got a deeper meaning to me, where it’s like sort of a ‘I’m here to stay’ type of thing. It wasn’t a one-hit-wonder thing. The first album, people liked that and whatnot, but I’m here to stay, and it’s not whatever. I ain’t in it for my health.”
3 new songs from Zach Top are featured on my ‘Facebook Post of the Day’

Bakersfield East is a great way to describe this album that captures Chandler Dozier mixing the Bakersfield Sound with his bluegrass and traditional country roots. “It’s Not Me It’s You” will give you serious Dwight Yoakam vibes down to the tiny little vocal inflections that you can’t fake. But this is just where this young man’s music mastery begins. A big surprise awaits you on these 2 new songs from Chandler Dozier on my ‘Facebook Post of the Night’

Many can capture the sound. Few can deliver it so effortlessly like it's what they were born to do. Country music might've just found its next great traditionalist star.

Traditional country music and Jack Daniel’s…name me a better duo.
Shelby Lee Lowe is an up-and-coming artist from Tennessee, and if you’re not yet familiar with his music, you should be. The guy makes real-deal, traditional country music, pulling from the sounds of his influences like Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, and even Eric Church.
He became the first artist to ever record an entire EP at the historic Jack Daniel’s distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee.
Live from Lynchburg was recorded entirely at Motlow Cave, a cave and natural sprint at the distillery. Check it out on my ‘Facebook Post of the Night’

Carter Faith recently dropped the official music video for her single “Bar Star,” and it comes with a dose of Hollywood stardom, thanks to Academy Award-winner Billy Bob Thornton.
This collaboration with Thornton was a dream come true for Faith who claims to be a longtime fan of his on-screen talent. As soon as she wrote the late-night track alongside Aaron Raitiere, Tofer Brown, and Tyler Halverson, the songstress knew that Thornton would be the perfect person to help bring it to life.
Faith’s vision for the song’s music video was perfectly executed thanks to Billy Bob.
Watch it on my ‘Facebook Post of the Night’

“I can’t believe I somehow convinced Billy to be in my music video,” she admits.

Kaitlin Butts is serving up some justice in her brand-new music video for the viral hit “You Ain’t Gotta Die (To Be Dead To Me).” The rising country/Americana star trades heartbreak for humor in a western-inspired tale that proves she’s the one to call when a woman needs help dealing with a man who’s done them wrong. She takes that message to heart, while showing off her dance moves in a red mini dress, black boots and a whole lot of attitude Enjoy the video on our ‘Facebook Post of the Night’

The western-inspired music video plays out like a mini-movie.
