Welcome to Thursday’s edition of CDN.
-In what appears to be a murder su***de in Austria, two bodies have been found at Traunsee Lake. First several suitcases filled with a woman’s dismembered body parts are found. Later the man’s body was found with two suitcases attached to his arms with zip ties and weighed down with rocks. His cause of death seems to be of drowning. Authorities believe he killed, dismembered the body, cemented her head, tossed the suitcases in the lake and eventually drowned himself. Both victims who remain at this time unknown appear to be between 50 and 70 years of age. This story is NUTS…he never should have watched Dexter!
-New drone that just launched at CES can now carry humans. Does this technically count as a drone now or is this a helicopter now even if you don’t have to control it?
-Trooper that arrested Sandra Bland is indicted on perjury charges over the tape of the incident and if it was edited. This still doesn’t justify as justice for this woman but every little bit helps.
-After a standoff with the police, a father shoots and kills his 2-year-old son and then himself.
-A puddle in England makes a huge splash as people stare at the live feed for hours watching people try and cross.
-Star Wars as expected has done it! It is now the #1 movie in North America of all time. Next feat will be going for the global top spot which is still held by Avatar with $2.78 billion. They are already more than halfway there and China’s release date is Saturday so I can see what took Avatar 7-months to do, will be done in like 2.
-U.S officials are speculating that the explosion in North Korea wasn’t that of a hydrogen bomb because of lack of evidence in initial tests.
-Could “Blind Hiring” be the thing of the future? Well some companies are already doing it and rather than asking for a resume, they are requiring you to sometimes write an essay about said job or component that they would be working around showing their knowledge, work a mock job or project for a day and complete an assignment. Things like their name and school are redacted from the hiring personnel. With all those compiled, the top candidates are called up, interviewed, and hired. Awesome idea and I am glad that companies like Compose Inc. are leading the front on this.
-Surprising fact, in the music world according to Forbs, Adam Lambert is the American Idol top earner with his income of $10 million pretax. Following him are the usual Carrie Underwood, Chris Doughty, Phillip Phillips, Scotty McCreery, and Kelly Clarkson.
