Welcome to Thursday’s edition of CDN.

-In what appears to be a murder su***de in Austria, two bodies have been found at Traunsee Lake. First several suitcases filled with a woman’s dismembered body parts are found. Later the man’s body was found with two suitcases attached to his arms with zip ties and weighed down with rocks. His cause of death seems to be of drowning. Authorities believe he killed, dismembered the body, cemented her head, tossed the suitcases in the lake and eventually drowned himself. Both victims who remain at this time unknown appear to be between 50 and 70 years of age. This story is NUTS…he never should have watched Dexter!

-New drone that just launched at CES can now carry humans. Does this technically count as a drone now or is this a helicopter now even if you don’t have to control it?

-Trooper that arrested Sandra Bland is indicted on perjury charges over the tape of the incident and if it was edited. This still doesn’t justify as justice for this woman but every little bit helps.

-After a standoff with the police, a father shoots and kills his 2-year-old son and then himself.

-A puddle in England makes a huge splash as people stare at the live feed for hours watching people try and cross.

-Star Wars as expected has done it! It is now the #1 movie in North America of all time. Next feat will be going for the global top spot which is still held by Avatar with $2.78 billion. They are already more than halfway there and China’s release date is Saturday so I can see what took Avatar 7-months to do, will be done in like 2.

-U.S officials are speculating that the explosion in North Korea wasn’t that of a hydrogen bomb because of lack of evidence in initial tests.

-Could “Blind Hiring” be the thing of the future? Well some companies are already doing it and rather than asking for a resume, they are requiring you to sometimes write an essay about said job or component that they would be working around showing their knowledge, work a mock job or project for a day and complete an assignment. Things like their name and school are redacted from the hiring personnel. With all those compiled, the top candidates are called up, interviewed, and hired. Awesome idea and I am glad that companies like Compose Inc. are leading the front on this.

-Surprising fact, in the music world according to Forbs, Adam Lambert is the American Idol top earner with his income of $10 million pretax. Following him are the usual Carrie Underwood, Chris Doughty, Phillip Phillips, Scotty McCreery, and Kelly Clarkson.

Its hump day folks, we are halfway done with the first full week of the year! In today’s news we have…

-North Korea now says they have successfully tested their hydrogen bomb which took place on January 6, 2016 registering with a magnitude of a 5.1. "If there's no invasion on our sovereignty we will not use nuclear weapon," the North Korean state news agency said. "This H-bomb test brings us to a higher level of nuclear power." This is about to get real interesting folks.

-22.5% of criminal incidents in Germany’s city of Cologne following New Year’s Eve celebrations were of a sexual assault nature. Many of the perpetrators were described as gangs of Arab or North African men. 90 of the criminal incidents occurred mostly around the train station next to the city’s landmark cathedral. In a grave discussion of what actually happened and why, the German city is now wondering if it was due to a migrant issue.

-POTUS got a bit emotional during his call for the national sense of urgency to limit gun violence. The proposed changes to make it harder for guns to fall in the wrong hands leave the country torn. Whether you agree or not, you can see he is passionate about the issue and it really disturbs him. Even If I don’t agree, which isn’t the case, I can appreciate what drives it. Clinton vowed to take up the fight if she is elected.

-In an effort to make Twitter more user friendly, it’s possible that the 140 character limit could be expanded to 10,000. The simple idea that was added in the early days of twitter was to have a thought that would fit into a normal SMS message. It forced people to be brief and creative. While they don’t want to ever loose that feeling, they realize that people may have more to say which is prompting the change. You can expect to see the character expansion by the end of this quarter.

-An African boy who was attacked by chimps is getting facial surgery in the U.S. that will hopefully allow him to eat, drink, and talk normally for the first time in two years. The incident took place when Dunia Siboman, 6, was playing with his 4-year-old brother and a friend in the Congo and they were attacked by a gang of chimps. They killed both his brother and friend and dismembered the friends’ body all while leaving Dunia badly injured.

-If you have been watching or have already watched Netflix’s “Making a Murderer” then you should be familiar with the Steven Avery, his case, and the dismissed juror who left due to a serious family emergency. Well now, that juror says that other jury members were related to a local cop and a county employee. The plot thickens again!

-Cpl. Eric Jamal Johnson of the Marines has been arrested for the alleged shooting and murder of the 20-year-old girl who was killed on New Year’s Day.

Good morning folks and welcome to Tuesday’s edition of CDN!

-It’s expected that today, the Obama administration will announce a series of executive orders to combat gun violence in the U.S. This will expand mandatory background checks for private sales among other things. We will keep you posted as the details roll out.

-Who is Jean-Pierre Adams? He is a former France International better known as “Garde Noire” or “Black Guard”. After making a name for himself in Europe, his life was all changed in one short day. He went in for knee surgery in a hospital that was on strike and received what would now be considered subpar attending to and never woke up. He has been in a coma for 33-years and in the care of his family at home. He can breathe on his own but can’t talk, walk or move any limbs. He is now 67 and still being looked after by his wife Bernadette. That is true love and dedication right there!

-Country singer Craig Strickland has been found dead. The 29 –year-old singer of the country rock band Backroad Anthem was out duck hunting late last month with his friend Chase Morland. They were headed out into the potential storm that was approaching Oklahoma’s Kaw Lake. In a haunting tweet right before the adventure, Morland wrote "In case we don't come back, and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. ." Two days later Morland was found dead due to drowning from the capsized boat and the freezing temperatures. A week after the initial search Strickland’s body was found. His dog Sam is the last remaining member of the tragic trip into the storm and back in the home with Strickland’s wife.

-Have you been seeing all the social media buzz around Netflix’s new series “Making a Murderer”? Well if you haven’t, now you are aware! I can truly say that by episode 3 I was hooked and only had to stop to go to bed for the gym and work today. It is purely addicting and quite fascinating. The show now has growing amount of people petitioning for Avery’s pardoning. One man, two crimes…watch it, you won’t be disappointed.

-Derby the dog has been making his rounds on social media as he shows off his new prosthetic legs that have been 3D-printed.

-Watch out…Patti LaBelle has just launched a cake line. Who didn’t see this coming? In yet another deal with Walmart, she will be putting out a new line of pound cakes. Maybe this means I can finally get some of that sweet potato pie. I will be waiting for James Wright’s review. I’m good without the pound cake though, no one makes that like grandma.

-A 15-year old teenager has been detained after allegedly confessing to killer her mother and her mother’s boyfriend. News is reporting that she killed them and then went out and celebrated New Years. The bodies were found several days later and it appears she lived with them before she was arrested.

-This whole world weather thing is just from one opposite to the other. In a sad story of lost life, 21 people passed due to sub-zero weather in Poland.

-Couple from New Jersey apparently left three young children in the car out in the cold for almost two hours while they were inside a Bucks County casino. Is gambling that serious?

-Tyga is under fire again. This time it’s for allegedly relentlessly texting a 14-year-old model named Gloria Allred. He just can’t seem to stay out of the news. You are with a Kardashian/Jenner…there is no need to put any more light on you. Wonder what the obsession with minors is all about.

-Researchers are claiming they have dug up what looks like a 2,800-year-old Mesopotamian clay tablet cell phone, reportedly found in the Austrian town of Fuschl am See.

Welcome to the first Monday in 2016!!!! It’s time to bring in the new week of the year with CDN’s first post of the year.

-A deadly 6.7 scale earth quake hits India around 4:35 AM. The quake took place about 35 miles underground hitting a city just west of Imphal and at this time has reports of 33 injured and 6 dead. The city of Imphal has a population of more than 250,000 and the clear area of those affected and damage is unknown at this time.

-New Year’s tragedy strikes a student of University of North Texas. Sara Mutschlechner was the DD for her friends at a New Year’s party and as she drove three passengers home in the early hours of Friday morning a dark colored SUV pulled up next to them.
Apparently words were exchanged between the occupants of both vehicles and as they passed the intersection, someone in the SUV opened fire. Sara was hit in the head and the vehicle crashed into a light pole as the other vehicle sped off. Sara was rushed to the hospital where she later was pronounced dead.

-A second source has come forward backing up the story that alleged that Peyton Manning was receiving Human Growth Hormone shipments. It is said that the shipments always were sent to Ashley Manning, his wife, to various locations to include her house. She has yet to confirm or deny anything but her husband has said he hasn’t taken anything.

-This weekend in movies brings in Star Wars again on top followed by Daddy’s Home, The Hateful Eight, and Sisters. Star Wars continues to crush records as it’s now are the #2 highest earner of all time with $740 million in just 19 days of its release. That now trumps Jurassic Word and Titanic leaving only Avatar to beat. It is expected to soon pass that and sit atop the charts needing only $20.2 more to go. It took Avatar 72 days to make $700 million and Star Wars did that in 16 days so just take that into perspective. At this rate it will be hard to top them anytime soon and global numbers will jump just as soon as it’s released in China.

-Saudi Arabia is cutting ties with Iran after protests says the foreign minister.

-With just one day in office, the Mexican mayor of Temixco was gunned down in her home. Gisela Mota was 33-years-old. As of right now, three people are being held for the murder including a minor.

-Chris Brown is being investigated in an alleged battery that supposedly took place before 10:30 am Saturday in the Palms Hotel in Vegas. His publicist has already released a statement calling the reports untrue. I believe in him even if the media won’t let his actions of 2009 go. It looks like this woman who attended a party of Chris’s at the hotel had her phone and was trying to take pictures on top of acting out (both no-no’s in today’s celebrity world). She was escorted out and she waited for the phone which had been taken, she had a “meltdown” in the hallway which apparently can be seen on tape. Her claim is that Brown struck her and snatched her phone. More to come on this I am sure.

-In New Orleans, police are saying that a driver hit a pedestrian in the French Quarter and dragged the body more than 6-miles and crossing over a Mississippi River bridge. A driver around 3:30am found the disfigured body on the road leading from the bridge. All that is known is that the vehicle in question is a black sedan with tinted windows.

-A 16-year-ol girl in Atlanta was shot during a robbery for her hoverboard that she received for Christmas. She was shot in the back but is listed as in good condition in the hospital. No information on the assailants has been released.

-I am a little disturbed how Jaden Smith is the face of 2016 Louis Vuitton’s WOMENS campaign. How a 17-year-old boy is going to launch this year’s fashion for them is beyond me. Yes, he has been seen in a dress at his own prom and a batman costume but still. Those are his choices as he says is expressing how he feels inside but I don’t know how the woman he has on the inside will launch anything on the outside world. Maybe he needs to get picked up by Kanye West’s clothing line where different is the only thing you can call it.

Welcome to CDN’s Wednesday morning edition. As we approach the Christmas break, we here at CDN would like to wish everyone a warm and enjoyable holiday. May it bring you joy, laughter, family, and friends.

-Ted Cruz runs a parody ad that prompted a Washington post artist to draw an animation of the Republican candidate and his two daughters as monkey like creatures doing the bidding of their father. It received so much backlash the Post took it down and replaced it with an editor’s note. I get what they were trying to imply but that’s still harsh when it comes to peoples kids. They really should be left out.

-A 2-year-old baby boy named Braydon in Missouri died in his crib at his parents’ house/meth lab. The boy was left in the room unattended with a space heater on for more than 38 hours. The heater had no thermostat and doesn’t cut off automatically. The mother said she could hear the boy making noises and thought she should check on him but didn’t. Paramedics said the child had been dead for some time and the autopsy revealed that he was malnourished and thin. His cause of death was hyperthermia due to extreme heat which caused him to have discomfort and difficulty breathing as he died. His parents are facing criminal charges for child abuse that lead to death and for making a controlled substance in a residence where a child resides. This is such a sad story.

-The Secret Service is in the news again. This time for an agents gun, badge, radio, handcuffs, and flash drive all being stolen out of his vehicle. His vehicle was parked on G Place in downtown Washington and around 4pm is the estimated time of the incident. He noticed his vehicles rear window unzipped and the bag containing the items missing. Now I don’t care how close one is parked to the law enforcement agency’s headquarters or what time of day it is, why would you leave it in the car like that? It doesn’t specify exactly what he was driving but I can imagine it’s a jeep or something for sport and rugged terrain to have zippered windows. If you are smart enough to leave valuables in zippered car, an unlocked/unsecured car, or one that has plastic windows, I can only blame you. You have made it far too easy for any theif!
HA, Steve Harvey has a multi-year deal to host Miss Universe pageant and I am so happy. Yes, he made a mistake that I think they still need to release just what really happened but he is a great host.

-For my Star Wars fans out there, is it possible that Rey (Daisy Ridley) is Obi-Wan’s daughter? Oooo such a theory is really picking up traction online. What do you think?

-Did Kim Kardashian-West break the internet again? Well not the whole internet but the apple app store for sure. I guess her fans really wanted her KIMOJI app that features all things Kim to include her famous butt, the middle finger, her pregnant body profile and more. As annoying as that whole family can be, they are seriously about a coin and I can’t knock the hustle.

-Reality’s famous Jersey gal is of prison. That’s right, Teresa Giudice was released from Federal Correctional Intuition in Danbury, Conn after 15 months behind bars.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Welcome to Tuesdays edition of CDN.

-Remember the motorist that mowed down people on the sidewalk in Vegas? Well she is now being charged with murder as she should be. So many more lives could have been taken by this nutcase.

-Have they closed the Sandra Bland case? A Texas Grand Jury ruled that the Waller County sheriff department did nothing wrong in the treatment of Sandra. The state trooper who arrested her though may still face charges.

-Looks like SnapChat is telling a different story of the behind the scenes of the Miss Universe mix-up. A seven second video shows what appears to be Steve Harvey clearly confused and pointing out that the teleprompter said one thing and in fact it was wrong. Interesting because most people know the cards held are usually for show and the information is either in their ear or on the teleprompter.

-It’s been announced that the FDA will now allow gay and bisexual men to donate blood. Was that really a rule? From the posts that I have seen since the announcement, no one seemed aware nor had anyone been asked about their sexual orientation prior to giving. If the blood is tested before it’s stored, what difference does it make?

-Did the Simpsons back in 2009 predict the future yet again? Well seems like it. Other than the wording, both Star Wars and Chipmunks are against each other in the theatres right now, six years later. It’s off by calling it the 3rd instead of the 4th but not many are watching them to care. The Star Wars poster is pretty funny because it says “The Apology” which can almost be the title of the one that has just come out because it seems to really be for giving fans those prequels 1-3.

***Heartwarming Stories***

-A struggling but honest busboy found $3,000 in an envelope in a booth in Colorado and turned in to his boss who found the ones who left it. People were so impressed with Johnny’s honesty that they started a GoFundMe.com account and raised more than $3,800. The owner of the lost money also gave Johnny a $300 tip for the return of their money. Look at that!

-Two weeks ago, a church congregation in Ohio tipped a pizza delivery driver $1,000. An Alaska church has upped that and when a 14-year-dilivery driver stopped by. The pastor asked the driver what his best tip was and he replied $100. The pastor replied “How does a tip of $1,900 sound?” This gesture made his day and he has some small but needed plans for the money. He needs new snow tires, he has some medical bills and will take his wife out for a nice spaghetti dinner.

-Today I went to buy coffee for the office and after I placed my order I was told it was already paid for. In shock I said “really?” and I was just told to ensure I pay it forward and Merry Christmas.
I love stories like these. Why can’t we as a human race do more of this and less of that other craziness? Its great people out there and I think this is the perfect way to swing the pendulum in the right direction.

Welcome back to CDN on the start of the holiday week.

-If you haven’t seen the memes and videos already, you must have not checked your social media. Steve Harvey accidently announced the wrong Miss Universe as Miss Colombia instead of Miss Philippians. Miss Columbia wore the crown, smiled, and waved thinking she won for about 18 seconds before the issue was identified. Honest mistake made by one of the people in Hollywood most really respect and adore. Accidents happen; this was just a globally scaled one.

-In Las Vegas, a driver in her 20s with a 3-year-old in car seemed to intentionally mow people down on a sidewalk. At least one was killed and 37 were injured near the Paris Las Vegas hotel on Sunday.

-Four are arrested in connection to the Air France flight bomb scare that caused the plane to divert to Kenya.

-Public schools in Nashua, New Hampshire have been closed today after the district received detailed threats directed towards two high schools. Out of caution, all students were told to stay home.

-91 people or more are missing after damaging landslide hit an industrial park in south China.

-In an act of bravery a 15-year-old was killed while shielding girls from gun fire in Tennessee. Zaevion Dobson was a star student and football player who lost his life as he dived on top of three girls as shots rang out from what is believed to be a gang shooting. The good ones always go too soon. He will be missed by his student body and family but his legacy and success story live on.

-New report says that Iran hackers accessed NY’s dam in 2013. Is this supposed to make us feel better? Some things need to not be known to the general public.

-Well it’s not shocking to me but I still must report that the new Star Wars has had a massive weekend. Disney officially beat out domestic box monster Jurassic World which this summer brought in $208.8 million on opening weekend. Star Wars came in with $238 million over the weekend. It also did quite well internationally but won’t take any major records due to China not releasing it in the same weekend as the rest of the world. China is always messing up something.

It's may the Force be with you Friday

-Bernie Sanders campaign has been suspended from the Democratic National Committee due to his team accessing Clintons voting information. A firewall usually separates the information in the database but the vendor that runs it dropped it for a short time Thursday which is when the sneak peak took place. Sanders fired the staffer that was responsible for the access.

-In Virginia, Augusta County has closed all doors on school for today due to some controversial homework that was assigned to students. The teacher of world geography handed out a standard homework assignment on Islam and I don’t think anyone could have expected the backlash. The sheet talks about calligraphy and what the rules of the Koran are and since they can’t have “idolatry” in a mosque, they draw word art and beautiful designs instead. Then it gives the students a popular Islamic word that translates into a statement and asks the students to try and imitate it. The purpose was to get students to understand the difficulty of the type of art. The world is translated to: "There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is the messenger of Allah." That is the problem if any that I see in this whole thing. That is forcing a religious statement on those who don’t share that belief. There are people crying out for this teacher to be fired. It isn’t her fault; it’s out a standard student handbook. The board has said they are changing the word and making it a non-religious statement instead. This is just another example of how we all need to pay close attention to those things that are taught to us, forced upon us, or even in the things we intentionally read, listen to, and watch. You never know the purpose of those who created it.

-Scientist in Australia have discovered the nearest habitable planet to earth and this star called Wolf 1061c “Super-Earth” is only 14-lightyears away.

-I can for the most part comment if asked now about Star Wars and it’s such a relief. It’s out in the states now and if you haven’t seen it yet, you have until Sunday or I hope you don’t get on any social media, read the news, or have any friends. That may be the only way you avoid spoilers. I can’t wait till the numbers roll in next week. The overseas numbers for the debut are already coming in with a reported $14.1 million in 12 international markets. It set a one day record in Norway and in Sweden. Fandango has sold more Force Awakens tickets than any other movie since their launch for movie tickets.

-Feds are searching for the “affluenza” teen and his parents. He failed to make his schedule probation meeting with his probation officer and neither he nor his mother can be found. Some fear that they have fled the country.

-Fans cheer in much anticipation as Chris Brown’s new CD is released today. Royalty is available in stores and digital download immediately. A few tracks were already made available over the last few weeks. I prefer this over August Alsina’s CD. Battle of the R&B boys.

-We have the coolest president ever… anyone catch him on last night’s episode of “Running Wild with Bear Grylls”? He was eating salmon picked at by a bear and drinking tea made of cat skins.

-Rita Ora sues to leave Jay Z’s Roc Nation record label. Between Jay-Z’s sports management division, Tidal, Rihanna, Calvin Harris, and family I am sure she has been put a little further in the back of the line than she would have liked to. Good luck getting out of this contract. To date, she has only released one album since her signing seven years ago. Her self-titled album was released in 2012.

---Today’s Crime Watch---

-Friend of the San Bernardino shooter is charged with purchasing the assault rifles used in the attacks and supporting terror.

-North Dakota high school teacher charged with corruption of a minor by sexual contact.

-Daycare owner charged for locking 8 children inside business with no supervision.

-Michigan woman charged with murder as she beat her husband to death then the dog.

-In Oklahoma two are dead as a drunk driver shot at random cars from his pickup truck in a fit of road rage.

-A Chinese foreign exchange student was slashed in the face while walking to school in Queens by an unknown assailant.

Let’s see what’s happening around the world on this Thursday morning

-Air India loses an employee after they were sucked into a plane engine as it was being towed backwards from the parking bay preparing for taxiing out. What shocks me more was the news headline title of “Man dies being sucked into plane engine”. No you think? I would be more shocked if he somehow lived.

-Secret Service loses a member who was placed on admin leave earlier this year following a domestic dispute. Shortly after Arthur Baldwin, 30, made his court appearance for the issue that got him suspended, he was shot multiple times and pronounced dead. Police are offering a $25,000 reward for his capture.

-The Star Wars UK premier was AWESOME!!!!

-Has Ash Carter been exposed? Apparently he used a personal email account to conduct official business early in his time on the job. This is raising questions about the administration’s ability to handle sensitive information.

-Who steals $5 Million in diamonds in New York and tosses them in the trash? Well no one kind of. Some workers at J. Birnbach Inc were helping their boss move and tossed three boxes filled with diamonds in the trash without looking inside. A security guard in the building found them in the trash and sold off $10,000 worth to someone else in the building and kept the 17-carat diamond that was worth $3.2 million. He has now turned over that to the cops along with a few more diamonds and $10,000 in cash. Better question is where are the rest?

-Judge declares mistrial after jury remained deadlocked in first Freddy Gray trail.

-A 17-year old California teen decided to go and chase her suspected carjacker only for him to pull out a gun and shoot her. She was hit just below her collarbone on Monday. Learned your lesion yet?

-Add Houston to the list of school districts who have recently received emails of violence. Unlike LA, Houston still plans to have school just like New York. Dallas and Miami school districts have also reported similar emails. I am sure this is scary for all involved because there is no real way to know a credible threat from the hoaxes.

-Even from the grave, Michael Jackson still reigns. His album Thriller just became the first album to be certified 30x multi-platinum for the US sales. The album was released November 30th 1982 and has been setting records ever since.
