Sylvenus (18) lost his father when he was a small boy. His young mother remarried and went with him, but the step father wouldn’t take him, so he came back home and made a life from the old, beat down grandma’s house. He dropped out of school and for many years suffered a lot of jiggers in that house where he stayed alone. He lost all hope. Nobody wanted him. The desperation in his eyes was very telling. We found him almost lynched because he had stolen someone’s banana. I knew it is because of hunger; he’s not a thief. I’m happy that woman understood the point.
The good news about life is that there a mourning and a morning. His joy finally came in the morning when RUS and her donors built him this little but nice house with concreted floors. He’s finally truly free from jiggers, and we also have other good plans for his education (vocational training) and a job. Those who hated him now respect him. I just wanted to warm up someone with this great testimony this morning. Remember this - joy finally comes, no matter how long and dreary the night was 🙏🏿.
