🎤 Pandemic Comedy Time…

“You know, I started Flavors of NY in the middle of the pandemic. That was when everyone else was starting sourdough starters or OnlyFans. And I’m like, nah, let me risk my life for a slice of pizza in Queens. People were hoarding toilet paper, I was hoarding restaurant stories. My family was like, ‘Alan, do you really need to interview a food truck right now?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes… this taco is essential.’

And the funny part? I wasn’t even sure if anyone would watch these videos. Like, people were binge-watching Tiger King, and I’m out here thinking, maybe they’ll binge-watch a Dominican guy making empanadas on Gun Hill Road. Netflix has Joe Exotic, I’ve got Jerry’s Jerk Chicken. Same drama, fewer mullets.

And filming during COVID was wild. I’d walk into a restaurant with a selfie stick and a mic, and people looked at me like I was either starting a YouTube channel… or about to conduct a nasal swab. I’m like, ‘Relax, I’m just here to ask about your grandma’s lasagna recipe, not your antibodies.’”

👉 That’s not what we do. Since the COVID summer of 2020, we’ve produced nearly 2,000 free videos — each one centered on real people and real stories. No gimmicks. No stunts. Just authentic voices that deserve to be heard.
