Sign the petition to help remove the surf ban on Hoek van Holland’s (Rotterdam) main beach 🇳🇱

Yeap the rumors are true, surfing is now officially banded between May 1 to Oct 1. Unrealistically, the authorities have set aside a 200 meter strip for surfers, outside of that you risk a fine of €160.

This policy has been around since July 3, 2024, but it’s only just being enforced now. Even the municipality of Rotterdam seemed unaware at first.

Fortunately, there’s talks happening between Holland Surfing Association ( ) and the municipality, but your voice needs to be heard. Please sign the petition to help us get surfing back on Hoofdstrand 🇳🇱✌🏽

The Big Sea is a must-watch documentary for anyone who spends time in the water or who uses neoprene frequently. It exposes the true cost of neoprene and asks why. Its impact truly is far bigger than we could’ve imagined.

We’re hosting this screening together with and . Joining us the 20th are screenwriter Chris Nelson () director Lewis Arnold (.surf), and producer Demi Taylor () for a Q&A moderated by Ronald de Leeuw ().

Doors open at 18:30 for drinks, mingling, seaweed tasting with Sara from , and a chance to meet the filmmakers.
