These have been remastered from the original negatives and interpositives, featuring HDR10 and Dolby Vision, with new Atmos, DTS HD, and stereo tracks, loaded with special features. 📀

I grew up loving these movies, especially the first one, and I sadly missed out on the very cool 25th anniversary Blu-ray pizza box edition, so I didn’t waste a single moment preordering this.

I visited James Cameron’s studio and watched actors turn into Na’vi in real time. What I saw at Lightstorm Entertainment blew me away. 🎥

From stepping onto the massive performance-capture stage known as the volume, to watching James Cameron direct actors without a typical physical set, to seeing how Unreal Engine brings Na’vi characters to life as the performances happen, this visit felt like looking straight into the future of filmmaking.

Then they showed me 40 minutes of footage from the next Avatar film in Dolby 3D. Full CG characters. Full CG environments. And yet the emotion comes through entirely from the actors’ real performances. It’s unreal in the best way.

If you’re obsessed with filmmaking, technology, or the Avatar movies, this was a rare look inside the process that makes them so unique.

If you haven’t read SUPERGIRL: WOMAN OF TOMORROW, then I highly recommend doing so before the movie premieres next June. It’s a very emotional story about grief, trauma, and hope, and it gives you some context as to who Kara Zor-el is when we meet her in the movie.

Multiple versions of the film were created optimized for each presentation, including aspect ratios in 1.85 and 2.39 to take advantage of all screen sizes.
