We’re looking to build a video streaming marketplace for filmmakers. Think Airbnb for filmmakers, where instead of homes or apartments, filmmakers can post video content for rent and allow viewers to pay and watch. Filmmaker and admin will split collected fees from the viewer.
There are three user types: admin, viewers, filmmakers.
Filmmakers: Will be able to post videos with metadata, schedule a time for it to “premiere”, then host a live online Q&A after the premiere. Once the premiere is over, the video will be available via video on demand. In both instances, viewers will have to pay. Filmmakers will be able to create a public-facing profile that viewers can follow. Filmmakers will also be able to see reports of who’s viewing the content, how much money they’ve earned as well as feedback from the viewers via a star system.
Viewers: Will be able to peruse the site and see what content (films) are available to watch. They can generally view the site but would need to sign up or log in to meaningfully interact with the site, which includes following filmmakers and getting updates or notifications, commenting on content, rating the content, watching the film (which they have to pay for), etc. Please note that the viewer can watch trailers without signing up or logging in. To watch actual film content, they have to register/login and pay.
Admin: will manage the entire website, including users and content.
Ultimately, we're looking for a long term relationship with a developer that can help us create our MVP for now, and can grow with us long term. The ideal candidate will be located in Atlanta, GA, (USA) and is interested in being a part of a film industry based start-up with great potential. THERE IS PAY FOR THIS PHASE, but there's also an opportunity for equity long term, although interest in equity is not required. Please provide cost and time estimates for this phase only.
Please note: While we're looking to create an MVP, eventually we'd like to build a scalable version based on feedback from early adopters. We’d love to work with someone that understands startups and the process of growth and Lean Start-up methodology. Eventually, we'd also like to build mobile and streaming apps as well. Ultimately this can be a long-term development project for the right developer/team/company.
