Well, a year and a half later, my dad talked me in to finally fixing the bed on my 2008 Tundra. Hopefully can get it ready to sell by next week.

My dad talked me in to finally getting the Tundras bed patched up from all the rust. He knows me too well, knowing that it’s usually the “just getting started” part that I struggle with. Once I start, the ADHD hyperfocus takes over. Hopefully tomorrow we will make some good progress. Tonight I figured I’d start cutting, and ended up getting about half of it cut out.

Realized I haven’t posted the Tundra in a little bit. I’m loving how it’s been coming together!

Phoenix and I had an amazing time at the Weird Al concert. For a guy who’s 65, he put on an amazing show. It was Phoenix’s first time at any concert, and my first time at Red Rocks. It’s crazy how I’d listen to Weird Al since elementary school, and now Phoenix, who just finished middle school also listens to him.

Rear bed set up is coming together on the Tundra! I want to figure out some areas to put some smaller packouts. You can see the “Packout Powerstation” hiding behind the fridge.

Just waiting for a flush trim bit for my router to get delivered, so I can use this as a template to cut the other side. Building a Bed Plate for the Tundra, which will get Raptor lined and bolted down to stainless rivnuts. I wanted something flat to mount the drawers and fridge to. Trying to keep everything below the Roll n Lock tonneau.

I think I got lucky and this will fit first try 😂. Progress on turning the in to a . I really wanted it to compare to a higher end power station, making it comparable to the 2400W from others. Since I had the Redarc DC-DC charger, it made more sense to build my own set up vs buying one from Ecoflow or something. I found this mini power box on Amazon, that lets me run a 100W PD plug, which I was really wanting to find to say it’s comparable to the nice stations lol. Simplifies my wiring I’ll need to do too. I’ll be running two 100 AH batteries. I like that they have Bluetooth so I can group them together and monitor the usage from my phone, instead of having to add a shunt and meter. Keeps the box a bit more organized. I will try to leave some room for a future inverter. Worst case, with it being a pack out box, I can make accessory boxes that snap in to the top. We will see how it looks as I work on it more. I’m wingin it a bit lol.

Got the main skeleton of the bed rack designed and ordered. Fingers crossed it all fits. I normally do some test pieces, but decided to just send it! Trying to design a modular set up that can be used with any width or height, for most any bed rail (with or without a tonneau cover). I’ll be using a Roll n Lock tonneau for this. We shall see how it all comes together! Hopefully will have the parts in a week.

➡️ My current thought for a bed rack. Going to sit on it overnight, but I think it’s good for a start. With it designed around 80/20, I can easily add to it. I want to give the bracket designs for the website, so to bring cost down, I am trying to make things as typical as possible, with no welding. Just a bolt together, modular bed rack. There’s a few ways I can bring costs down. The 80/20 from T-Nuts is the most expensive part. But this rack is designed to work around tonneau covers with a 2” clearance.

Going to start working on this: Packout Power Station.
Since I’ll have both the Sequoia and Tundra set up for camping/trails, I am trying to make storage and power more modular so I can swap things between the 2. Picked up 2 100 AH LiFePO4 batteries and will be fitting my DC-DC charger in here. I found this power panel online too that’ll give me all my USB connections, along with a 100W PD port. Thankfully I’ll be able to poach a lot of the stuff off the Sequoias set up. The 6+ year old AGM battery in there was no longer holding a charge, so it needed an update any ways.
