16Pad Noise Terrorist

Schon immer hatte Candy aka 16Pad Noise Terrorist eine große Affinität zur Musik: entweder als Veranstalter von diversen Festivals elektronischer Musik (u.a. Wired I - X, WGT Noise Flors,LRI) oder als DJ. Candy sammelt bereits seit 1999 Erfahrungen in Sachen Musikproduktion und DJing.

2010 veröffentlichte Candy seinen ersten LongPlayer „Utopia“ auf dem Label HANDS. 2012 folgte der zweite Streich mit „Evilution“. Zahlreiche Live-Gigs in Deutschland, Holland und
Großbritannien zeugen von 16Pad Noise Terrorists steigender Präsenz in der experimentellen Musik-Szene. Sein drittes Album „Zeit“ war dann im Herbst 2014 erhältlich, sein viertes Album
„Eunoia“ 2018.

Stilistisch geht es bei 16Pad Noise Terrorist in Richtung Drum`n Bass, und zwar in die ominöse Seite, die mit dem Plus an Industrial und dem Minus an Sonnenschein-Liquid-Funk.
Er versteht es dabei, klare Beats mit distorted Basslines und melodischen Synths zu einer rhythmisch-emotionalen Symbiose zu verschmelzen, die den Hörer für kurze Zeit aus dem Reich des Alltäglichen entführt. Anderseits versetzt er sich und seine HörerInnen mithilfe von SlowMotion Beats und mit Patchkabeln verknüpfte Ambient Soundscapes in parallele Klang-
Universen.

Einflüsse aus IDM, Punk, oder auch Rhythmic Noise sind erkennbar, was 16PNT unter der blumigen Bezeichnung „Postnuclear Brutalism Funk" oder „Dark Modular Funk“
zusammenfasst. Vor diesem Hintergrund sollte auch erwähnt sein, dass sich kein geringerer als DJ Hidden bereits mehrmals für das Mastering von Candys Werken verantwortlich zeigt.
Candy nimmt sich Zeit für sein Sounddesign: eine Reihe harter Breakbeats werden mit tiefer Atmosphäre, experimentellen Klanglandschaften und einer fesselnden Handlung kombiniert.
Seine Musik strotzt vor Neugier, einer zukunftsorientierten Haltung, die das Arsenal amorpher Basslinien und unregelmäßiger Rhythmusausbrüche mit einer eindringlichen, berauschenden und filmreifen Atmosphäre ergänzt. In dieser wahrhaft abenteuerlichen Reihe wechseln sich
ruhige Momente und intensiv anspruchsvolle Passagen ab. Und verdammt, es gibt viel zu entdecken: Halfstep-Rhythmen und eine Schicht Düsternis, Industrial-Hardcore-Flair trifft auf
IDM und Drum-Step. Live einfach nur der Wahnsinn. Bitte Handtücher einpacken!

SHORT BIO of AURA KAMIKURA

born: 1984 in Leipzig

University degree: Master of Cultural Studies and Philosophy
The Leipzig based DJ Aura Kamikura started her DJ-journey in 2007 as a member of the crew GLOBAL NOISE MOVEMENT. Since then she has been bringing the finest sounds of rhythmic noise, distorted techno, hard/industrial techno to the scene-relevant clubs. Aura and her husband Candy aka 16Pad Noise Terrorist host the WGT Noise Floors at Moritzbastei, Leipzig. On her DJ-trip she also made stops at the Leipzig scene clubs Distillery and IFZ. The highlight was a gig at London's Slimelight for the "Electrowerkz" series. She also enriched scene-festivals such as the legendary „Maschinenfest“, the „Forms of Hands“ or „Elektroanschlag“ with her unique sets, which are a mixture of rhythmic noize, dark & distorted techno. "I like it when the sets vary in genre. Nothing is more boring than an hourly set where you think the DJ is playing the same song the whole time. Like a sine curve, my sets consist of highs and lows and thus refect life, at the end of which there is always hope. The music with its driving beats supports this feeling.

"My sets express the contrasts and ups and downs of life through the use of diferent technoid genres. Well-known names alternate with absolute underground artists. I welcome all dance- obsessed people to gloomy technoid sounds. For my DJ-sets I use 2 simple CD-players and a Mixer. No synch-efect is used. Only listening, equaling and fnding out when the perfect moment for a transition has come, to create a unique mix set. Have fun listening!“

Since March 2025 she has been a resident DJ at the Magdeburg techno club MAW.

THE MEANING OF CULTURE
As a studied philosopher and cultural scientist, the question of the meaning of culture is not new. Due to the corona pandemic and the abstinence from cultural events, many of us have learned that culture is systemically important after all. How bland would a society look without culture and music events? The question of the enormous importance of culture has a new meaning for me and therefore represents a new reality that it did not have for me (and for many others) before the pandemic.
