Today!

Only 10 more days away for our Annual Car Show & Vendor Fair. This year it will be held at Lake Murray Evangelical Church at 501 Murray Lindler Rd Chapin from 8:30-1:00.

This is a fundraiser event for a new parking lot for our church.

If you have a classic car that you would like to enter, please message me.

I am also in need of about 6 more vendors to set up a table and sell your business' merchandise.

We are also taking donations for our silent auction. All proceeds go to the church project.

We will have Ironwood BBQ truck serving breakfast and lunch. If you've never had their food before.....it is amazing!!!

The store will not be opening until about 1:30 on 8/23 so all of our vendors can enjoy the event.

Trophies will be given out to the best in show for Pastor's Choice as well as People's Choice.

Come out and enjoy the morning with us next Sat.

George Howard Lindler
August 29, 1932 – August 20, 2025

George Howard Lindler, affectionately known as Pop, passed away on August 20, 2025. He was born on August 29, 1932, to Edward Lee and Ella Carrie Lindler and grew up on a farm in Chapin as the youngest of 13 children.

He graduated from Chapin High School, where he played on the first-ever Chapin football team, and went on to serve in the U.S. Army for 20 years. During his service, he earned several decorations and medals, including the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in combat in Vietnam.

After his military career, Pop worked for the South Carolina Highway Department for a short time before joining the U.S. Post Office, where he remained until retirement. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and handyman who could fix anything. He was also a faithful member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church. Pop loved his ’65 Mustang, Clemson sports, and watching the Atlanta Braves.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria R. Lindler. He is survived by his three sons: Howard Lindler (Anita), Glen Lindler (Cathie), and Ronnie Lindler (Ginny); his grandchildren: Nathan Lindler (Amelie), Zachary Lindler, Andrew Lindler, and Heidi Shoulders (Taylor); and his great-grandsons, Forrest and Wynn.

The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home and Patriots Hospice for their care, compassion, and love.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, August 23, at 1:00 p.m., followed by the service and burial at St. Thomas Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 215 St. Thomas Road, Chapin, SC 29036, or Richard Campbell Nursing Home, 4605 Belton Highway, Anderson, SC 29261.
