All of us at Yep Roc were saddened to learn that Todd Snider passed over the weekend. We had the privilege of releasing his 2009 album, "The Excitement Plan." We celebrate him with the music he left behind. We’ve had Jobi Riccio ’s “The Ridge” on repeat this week. We can’t get enough!

About the song, Riccio says: “‘The Ridge’ is a cathartic lesson in self-awareness, set against a backdrop of changing seasons and relationships. When I play the song, I picture a very specific ridge I used to go walking on in fall growing up—the crows and magpies, scrub oak and deer, communing with them always helped me figure out how I was feeling. It fell into place very naturally in the studio, tracked mainly live as a power trio of myself on electric guitar, and my friends Dom Billet on drums, and Paul Defilglia on bass. Organ and an actual harpsichord were overdubbed by my co-producer Jesse Timm to add warm witchy textures throughout the latter half of the song.”

Fifteen years ago, The Autumn Defense (the side project of Wilco’s John Stirratt and Pat Sansone) released 'Once Around,' a fan favorite and cornerstone of their sound: warm and unmistakably autumnal.

Now, as 'Once Around' marks its 15th anniversary, the band has returned with 'Here and Nowhere' their first new album in several years, and a graceful continuation of that same world.
