Palm Springs (2020)

Basic Premise and Genre: Groundhog Day.

We've all seen Groundhog Day and we've all seen the trope done ad nauseum. Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow was fun. Boss Level was unwatchable. Happy Death Day was alright. Source Code so much meh. That's just a few. It's been done is what I'm saying.

In 2020 we got the freshest, and easily the best retcon by way of Palm Springs.

It takes a lame, boring event of a wedding in the desert, adds an over done trope, but somehow the dialogue and the cast just sell it. The comedy is dark and unreal. The climax is emotional and chaotic. It has hilarious parts and really deep parts. Andy Samberg and Christin Milioti have dynamite chemistry that sells the whole concept, which i won't spoil the details of. However, pay attention to Sambergs dialogue before you find out the big Groundhog Day mechanics. It's brilliant.

All in all the Lonely Island crushed it again.

This movie was so much fun. Terrific all star cast. Enough continuity to make (most) fans happy. I truly could not tell why it was reviewed so harshly. It was family friendly, so kids who play the game can watch it. It was action packed enough to keep people entertained. I really enjoyed everyone's performances.

If you're a fan of the game, or looking for a fun action filled adventure, it's worth the watch.

THEORY

Dominic Toretto has been in a coma/dead since the opening of this movie.

Everything up until this movie is reasonable. After this they become super heroes. I posit that they botched the rescue and Toretto has been in a coma or dead ever since and were seeing his last thoughts or his fever dreams. It's the only plausible answer to how insane they get.

10/10 5 stars and 4 thumbs up.

He was insanely cool.

The religious scars were an amazing idea. The hands and feet would make sense for climbing and the tail was outrageously neat. Probably one of my fave marvel depictions yet.

It was REALLY cool.

Grow Up!

Says the gritty old hag who literally played dress up for months to make them the fans they are today.

What a rancid aged piece of trash. Who sh*ts on their fans for keeping their whismy until adulthood? Probably making her more famous by sharing it with their children.

My advice to her is Lighten Up!

Harry Potter franchise star Miriam Margolyes uses some colorful language to double down on her criticism of adult Harry Potter fans.
