"I was ordered to move to the front of this redoubt in order to face 500 Russians, who were supported by three squadrons of their cuirassiers, and to prevent them from flanking it, which I did. I even had the satisfaction of seeing their numbers diminish very quickly, because within an hour there were almost none left."
