I like how she touches on multiple pieces of the puzzleâŚ
What caused my sonâs autism?
Iâll tell you this - it wasnât genetics. We ran the tests, reviewed family history, did the scans. Nothing pointed to his genes.
Did I take Tylenol during pregnancy? Yes. A few times. Because it was the âsafeâ recommendation back then. (I wasnât as holistic yet to know there were other options.)
Like every pregnant woman, I was also required to take folic acid. But folic acid is a synthetic, cheap version of folate. It doesnât always convert well in the body, and in children with folate receptor autoantibodies or MTHFR variants, it can actually block folate from reaching the brain. That means speech, cognition, and neurotransmitter balance all suffer. Folinic acid, the active form, can bypass that blockâŚbut nobody told me that. Doctors donât know. And itâs shown up to 60% of us have methylation issues - we canât use folic acid.
Still, my pregnancy was healthy. My baby was healthy. He met his milestones. He was pure joy every day.
Then came his 18-month DTaP shot.
Within two hours, he spiked a 105.8 fever and had seizures. He was experiencing encephalitis. At the hospital, they gave him Tylenol, the only tool they knew. They meant well. But that combination of high aluminum from the vaccine, plus Tylenol shutting down glutathione (the bodyâs master detox pathway) it was too much.
Within 48 hours, my child regressed. He stopped speaking. Stopped interacting. His light dimmed.
Later testing revealed his aluminum levels were off the chart. Heâd gotten the last dose in a multi-dose vial, where aluminum had settled. Tylenol wasnât the cause alone. It was one piece of the puzzle.
Once we addressed aluminum, many of his âautism symptomsâ improved. His speech returned. Heâs been seizure-free for 9 years. His sensory issues are gone. Heâs largely back in our world. He still has cognitive issues, but encephalopathy (caused from the vaccine) will do that.
And thatâs why I share this: if it were âjust geneticsâ or âjust Tylenol,â we wouldnât have seen this healing.
Parents, keep digging. The story is not over. There are thousands of kids like Noah, and they deserve answers. I think we have finally shifted on the right path!
